What? Never had that problem. I like captive bar nuts, myself. Like Corey, I do not want to misplace my nuts.

They aren't always as captive as they are supposed to be - so really it just is another kind of spare nuts to carry around. Not an asset in my mind, but doesn't hurt much either.

got her out this morning and got her dirty. I'm impressed! did about 30-45 minutes of actual cutting, burned a full tank and maybe 1/4 of the next.

this was my first time with full chisel chain, not very impressive. the wood I'm cutting on right now has been down at least 5-10 years, and is pretty hard. I started cutting this one up weeks ago with my 450 and semi chisel and that seemed to cut more consistently for a longer period of time. the chisel on the 562 I could tell a steep drop off in performance in the first few minutes of cutting.

I did not baby it at all. fueled/oiled up, pulled 3 times and she popped, choke off 1 more pull and I gave her hell and plunged it in to some wood. cut about 8 or 10 cookies off of a y Junction on the tree that was about 18x30, and then proceeded to cut the trunk up into rounds and noodled them down to get them in the trailer. she did really well considering the concrete hard wood and chisel chain, can't wait to get it into some green wood. also might get a loop of semi chisel to have for jobs like this.

Chisel chain sucks in those conditions. I cut mostly dead oak and run semi chisel 90% of the time. Nice pics BTW.

I have been using Oregon I think lpx it seems to hold up ok in hard oak and hickory I grind it at 25 deg and 10 deg I do not put to aggressive of a hook. But it still does not last as long as simi chisel. Lol

Square ground at 15deg holds up very well in hard dead wood, cuts smooth and fast.

Semi chisel will always stay sharper and cut longer.

Agreed..
If a man learns to use a square file, there's nothing he can't make it work in.

Glad the OP got the 562.. Great all purpose worker bees they are.
And I like Echo power equipment.

Yup, I have a 562 and a 600p. The Echo rides around in the back of my truck, never even been under a roof and still is dependable. The 562 comes outside when I'm gonna cut all day. Performance wise they are about equal.

You're probably right. I don't like to use a square file, I should learn. But Matt, he said square grind. ;)

the loop I got with the saw is lgx. I stroked it with a file yesterday but didn't think of checking the depth guages. I went out this morning to clean up the saw and sharpen etc before putting it on the shelf. holy crap is that chain out of sorts, the depth guages were all over the place! some the file glided over about 1/2 a stroke and they were good, and some (2/3 or more) needed as much as 7 or 8 strokes. kinda want to get her back out and run a couple cuts to see how she does now that the chain is right. the wood is a bunch of dry white oak.

You are not the first person to say that new chain was out of sorts.
I bet it will cut like a new saw with the chain sorted out.
Lol new saw lol see what I did there.

Still breaking mine in. 2-3 more tanks and it will be done.

Popped the muffler off last week and it looked healthy with no blow by running 2R and now some Super M.

Saw gained a little more grunt this morning it felt like, keeps continuing to surprise me with a 20" bar and chain more suited to the bigger classes.

Sent from my non internal combustion device.
