Yes sir. Well... I used Yamalube based on your recommendations. LOL
NOW we find out it's No Bueno...

Yamalube is good oil too. It just didn't do well in extreme ratio testing. Will your saw blow up on Yamalube? Of course not. It's fine.

Now......why did I start using Yamalube? Because Ben Walker was so set on it. See how that works? LOL

Remember when I was using Belray H1R? Redbull661 proved to me that it was robbing my saws of quite a lot of power. But.....I still recommend it for a milling saw.

I'm apt to change again. I'm not at all closed minded.....and am willing to try stuff that other's are having good experiences with.

Give the old cans/jugs a real good shake, then use it.
I would. I think chain and tune have much more to do with preventing a catastrophic engine seize than the oil.
Be a smart operator. Listen for engine sound changes. If you hear an air leak or a big gain in engine rpms, stop and figure it out.

I agree.

Well theres a pile of antique shops in the South with very good prices on Homelite, McCulloch, and Poulan 2 stroke! Maybe I should start snatching it up.

It's Husky XP+ or it's nuthin at all dot dot dot

I've had zero issues running XP+ for a long time now...run it in everything two-stroke I have and never had a single carb problem or p/c failure. Ran Husky XP for years prior to the XP+ and never an issue with it. Now I ain't running ope balls to the wall everyday for a living either, but for my needs, it's kinda the ol' 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it ' theory to me.
This. Ran XP for years in my sporadic use gear with no issues. Ran out of XP, bought something else. My 346 picked up on the new oil, but i'm not blaming it. Went to buy some more XP but it has been superceded by XP+, which we aren't bringing in to the country.....cue: big internet search for MMWS346 rebuild help and a new oil.

That was the first I've heard of any tuning issues with RA.

I'm happy to read both these messages.

I looked into Saber. $9 to ship $12 worth of product. Local dealers are guys working out of their homes.. I guess just so they can get a deal on their own oil needs. Kind of a pain in the butt to obtain.

I'll stand pat with XP+ for the time being...

Now, where's a bar oil thread? ;)
The bar oil thread went south too. Over there we argue about oil tackiness. Or those who don’t care about oil tack.
I have a gallon of Klotz R50. Not sure if I will ever get around to using it, but I already mixed a gallon out of it so it's open.
I’d run that r50. I used a quart of the benol. Only gripe I had with it was in very very cold weather. Everything lost its tune fouled a plug. Made for a long day. That’s what turned me away from castor. If I had any left I’d run it above freezing to use it up though.

I wouldn’t be afraid of r50 any time

I found RA in 60cc saws and small hand held engines to be trickier to get spot on tuning. It is a thick oil, strong oil. Echo made it to slow done warranty claims would be my guess.
In stihl four mix engines RA runs great at 64:1 and feels more like a 50:1 oil.
Trigger take up is slower with RA at 50:1.

So im perusing the Klotz site after you mentioned the R50. I hadn't really heard of that one. It appears they have many I haven't. Saw this. A boat motor oil designed for motorcycles. Interesting.Screenshot_20210715-203041~2.png
