I don’t get it. How can some of these YouTube homesteaders be making the kind of money they are, in order to afford the products they show in their videos. Brand new log splitters and compact tractors, or mini ex’s. Huge shops and newer homes on 49 acres with a pond and a utv course running around it. Where is this money coming from? Is there that many tax breaks for “home steaders” and making llc’s for right offs?? Or are they in debt to their eyeballs?

YouTube pays a little bit but not that much. I believe they already had money and they’re just making videos now as sustenance. If the channels get popular enough, sponsors will provide some of the equipment, but most of it is just on loan for a few months I believe

When you have a bunch of pricey toys and time to make very professional videos, you aren't "homesteading". I'm not saying there is anything necessarily wrong with what they are doing, but it isn't even close to the same as what somebody like Dick Proenneke did.

They make more ca$h than You think, otherwise they wouldn't bother!

I’ve heard of people who uproot and sell everything they own, move to the “bush” and buy land, and the other essentials they need to make a go of it. That being said, there are a lot of variables, but it could be done, including buying the equipment, depending on what they had for assets when they decided to sell.
