Sorry.... but I don't know what he was grinding with but pretty rough looking, Guess I'm used to seeing Walkers work since I live in the same area.- and confess that I did a F-tec one once on a 372xp at some guys request- top of the piston wasn't even showing through the exhaust port after decking the cylinder so lowered the exhaust port.- hell he loved it and ran for a year as a work saw on log cabin building.

People who post numerous posts, one thought per post, when they could have just made one sensational post with the list. Got that post count up! :) cheers
Aren't that most of the forum members ?! o_O

Not a chainsaw pet peeve, but that’s ok! Sorry, I just kept getting new ones coming to mind!

Here :)

When someone wants to fix their saw that’s showing lean symptoms, has replaced lots of the parts but it’s still lean. When advised to pressure and vac test it, they say they haven’t got one and don’t want to spend the money on one, yet have wasted double the cost aimlessly replacing parts that didn’t need it.

When someone has a problem with an OEM carb but instead of cleaning it and rebuilding it, buys a Chinese one because it’s the same price as a kit and then says it’s not working...

When a saw is advertised for sale as “just needs a tune up” and upon inspection the piston is completely scored.

When someone rebuilds a saw they didn’t clean that is covered in junk.

When someone buys a farmertec clone kit to then complain after when it doesn’t work or is missing parts.

When two saws are tested head to head on youtube, but one’s ported...

When mr stupid uses the wrong size flathead screwdriver and it has caused the driver to cam out damaging the head.

When a cold saw is goosed and held WOT to show off.

When someone starts the saw and leaves it on high idle with the chain brake on to warm up.

Using the chain brake after every single cut, as much as possible thinking they are being safe.. click click click click click click click

Slamming the brake on with the chain still spinning.

Lean saws

Lean saws being goosed to keep them from stalling

Used saws being sold for more than new prices

Over priced secondhand Stihl’s because they are a “Stihl”

People trying to sell low hour saws that clearly aren’t low hour at all.

outboard clutches

non adjustable carbs

bars being called blades

Sharpening gadgets / jigs

People on YouTube testing / comparing saws with dull chains

Tuning tutorials that are not correct

Stihl’s terrible air filtration

The EPA

Primer & Purge bulbs

Non adjustable carbs

Decomp valves

Chinese clone saws

My 07 sounding beautiful and my neighbour complaining to the council about the “Noise” (Engine symphony)..

Very therapeutic getting that off my chest, thank you OP.

New peeve, when people dont use full throttle in the cut.
Sometimes it’s necessary to creep up on your hinge with a half throttle blip or two felling a tree... or even bucking cuts near the ground when your just about through with the cut so you don’t go through fast and hit the dirt. Now using partial throttle all the time isn’t good... just explaining why you would in certain situations.

Absolutely yes,
but these fellas are using partial throttle pretty much all the time.

Neighbour saw me cutting yesterday, was curious and came to me, eventually he said something like " you dont have to push it that fast " , first thoughts were that he was joking... but nope.

Their explanations are "well, you dont have to go full throttle"

Yup I agree that is definitely silly. Willing to bet his saw has a lot of carbon buildup inside of it. Lol

Or worse, mowing lawn half throttle.

Along with straddling the center line of a dual passing lane, when you’ve been trying to pass that slow person through 10 miles of country road but there is no legal opening...

True dat!

How about the weekend warrior who uses his 16" bar to go and cut a 48" diameter round and then wonders why it didn't just fall off to the ground.
SO he goes back and makes a 1" wide cut and does it over and over and over again...
