My hands started to go numb the last 2 years or so when I go to bed. It's all part of the experience.

It's been a hard knock life.
My hands go numb when I’m driving but I figure it’s the 500,000 8” blocks I laid the last 30 years that’s to blame for that

If something is gonna kill me or destroy my body it's not gonna be the vibration difference between a 400 and a 462.

That I can promise you.
They really are both pretty comparable in that department. Nothing like the old school saws that gave me nerve damage.

I respect your opinion and mine still is that mtronic is better in the fact lots of saws were totally lost from an air leak that the operator didn’t catch. Mtronic is a carb saw any way you look at it they just took the screws away, seems 80 % of the time if mtronic gos south if a reset doesn’t work a solenoid will. Yes there is the ones that require a shop visit but a solenoid and reset can be done in the woods. Or if you have multiple saws of same model order a complete carb to swap on to the saw if it starts to run bad and the reset didn’t work. I have suggested the mtronic to many average everyday wood cutters and tree services. So far everyone loves them and that’s all they buy. No solenoid changes yet even though I have spares on shelf and only 2 started to run funny but a reset fixed them. Clean fuel and change the filters once a year.

Reinstalling a solenoid in the woods? I love salesmen...

Look, I don't have an 'opinion' here. I only have experience.
The estates that don't have MT or AT get more work done. Just a fact.
I get less calls to work on their saws or to work out issues in the field, and their saws spend less time in the shop(whether mine or the seller).
Yes - MT and AT are here to stay(for now). I'm not arguing it. But that doesn't mean it's better for everyone. And, to be frank, AT and MT keep me in business.
But none of my personal saws are MT or AT.
I imagine for the dealers it is a nice wind fall, though. Solenoids here are €60 a pop or more.
The worst part is they are often not in stock - usually a 4-10 day wait.
So yeah, if you are in the states and like to fiddle with small parts in the dirt and the rain, and your dealer has these parts in stock and cheap, then I can see people enjoying having to fix or repair their saws in the field.
I just like my saws to work. And my non MT and AT saws just... work.
