Totally agree. Bark is a lot smoother than the Hackberry I'm accustomed to seeing, however the wood looks exactly like Hackberry. Lots of species varieties around.....

My folks had some on there yard years ago that we cut down the wood looked just like what is pictured above . Still have some in the yard bark is just like the photo OP posted . I haven't seen any hackberry with smooth bark . Maybe there is.

I've cut a heap with bark that smooth that was hackberry...kinda rare but they do exist.
Might have a pic or two...let me dig around.
