I like the old manual transmissions myself. Having gone from a manual transmission to an automatic, I have accepted the fact I can't stand automatic transmissions, I feel like I have no control.

Each year the manufacturers are taking away more control we have over many things we use, on our way to self driving vehicles we soon will loose all input to how they operate. Just yesterday I went to pick up a new Honda Civic standard shift for my youngest daughter. The dealership took more than a half hour explaining how all the driver assist options worked. I finally ask a very surprised staff member, how do I get rid of all this driver assist!

Yeah, I went from a manual to an auto. For weeks I would reach for the stick to change gears. Once while coming up on a stop sign I tried to push the clutch in that wasn't there and mashed the edge of the brake pedal to the floor and about threw myself through the windshield.

So, you have been to our fine county here in the rat race.
Sometimes when they're in their car....right up until the redneck or hillbilly wants to mash their mini by running them over or drag them out for a well earned thump. Nothing to violent. Just a small adjustment. Did I say that out loud.
Nope I'd say it louder if I could but my truck has to many of them stuck under the front diff!!!!:risas3:

Just trucks thank you, I don`t fit in cars well, not enough leg room. Have a liking for diesel standard shift, just an ole redneck too old to change my old habits.

I used to feel the same.
5 years worth of a 10 speed 12 hours a day through hills cured me

So, it was January 2016 when I typed out the words "TL is starting to look suspicious" to one of my buds. Just in case you want to know how long this thing has been going off the rails.

Off the rails, and deep into the ditch.

I just want to say this for the Christian people like me. Some of the best people I know are Christian’s. Also some of the best people I know don’t even go to church. People are people in all walks of life. It’s a shame when someone is so dishonest to take people like this. When we are done our integrity is all we really have.

While we're setting the record straight how many Prius haters have driven one? I think you may be surprised. They're pretty darn quick 0-25mph with that immediate electric torque and seem to be a better build quality than similarly priced vehicles. The problem with them is the people who generally buy them and can't drive. The cars themselves are a little odd but actually pretty decent.

It's been a LOT longer than that! Ask someone where his famous 372 came from that he somehow became "famous" for.

Wait, was that my outside voice?!

I buy a stick whenever I can, and the Mustang has one, but I have to admit, I am impressed with the 10 speed auto in my new Ecoboost F-150. If you are towing a trailer, and set the cruise control, it will just down shift to maintain speed up steep hills! And the reports I hear is that tranny (jointly developed with Chevy) is nearly bullet proof!

As for electric (etc) vehicles, if you add in the manufacturing, disposal, and generating the electric, all (if any) gains to the environment get wiped out. Maybe some day … but for now I think it is just a con game.
