Head is off the 090 jug and most of the case is clearanced.

This is where I’m at now. I need a good way to hold the case so I can mill it off perfect with the deck.
Also need to bore the case out to gain clearance for the piston.
Eh....the grinder has its place, but usually on a jug tho. For precise flattening work like that, I prefer the belt sander with 80 grit. If you eyeball it right, you shouldn't need more than a count of two potato after you touch off.Just bust out the 4.5 inch grinder and get on it.
Can you clamp it to the table and use shims accordingly at each corner as needed to level?View attachment 227125 View attachment 227126

Tall v-blocks (crankshaft v-blocks) with spacers in the bearing bores is how I've done it in the past.

I wish I had that sort of tooling.
Or....maybe I don't. I already have zero free time.
I like that idea, I’ve got a set of V-blocks. Just have to see if they are tall enough.Tall v-blocks (crankshaft v-blocks) with spacers in the bearing bores is how I've done it in the past.

If you thread the bases of the V-blocks you can bolt on risers.I like that idea, I’ve got a set of V-blocks. Just have to see if they are tall enough.
I’d like to set it up on my rotary table, I’m not a big fan of a boring head but I’m not totally against it.

Is there a build thread on this one? Or perhaps more information. I have a recent hunger for dolmar/Makita stuffs.Tall v-blocks (crankshaft v-blocks) with spacers in the bearing bores is how I've done it in the past.
