Was he from Texas?
Had a union Mason/finisher move up N yrs back , he was from Tejas.
Dat boy could cuss like Jay from da movie Jay and silent Bob.
Nope but he was a championship golden gloves boxer that also turned pro boxer during the golden years of boxing. Nobody messed with him and when he got to cussing you were afraid he night knock somebody out, he never did, he just cussed up a storm and people knew not to mess with him. I got along with him.
He was married to a five foot tall 100 lb gal and he NEVER cussed around her.

I will never access that forum from my personal computer again.I found out via my computer guy it had embedded trackers on my hard drive. At work they couldn't do it,industrial highly secure private internet .They'd stand a better chance of breaking into Ft Knox.

What's funny though even people like myself who have been banned show up as members .Many many names say 6-8-10 years ago since registration show up but never made a post .Naive as I am you don't suppose that could be an inflation of the actual tally of members? No can't be that would be dishonest
Place I worked blocked that site as well.

My intention for this thread when I created it wasn't to make an anti AS statement, just was expressing my appreciation for this option vs that one. I still use AS from time to time but instead of it being my 95% forum place like it was a couple years ago, it's probably in the 5% range. It's not a horrible site but it's very hard to accomplish anything over there. Post something about an 1127 series saw over there and get back the immediate responses of "overpriced, overweight, underpowered turd" and so forth. And many spew information which is clearly outside their area of direct knowledge. It's an internet forum and like all forums, one has to "filter" the info as there can be lots of error but it's just hard to get straight glitch.

Another thing I noticed years ago, in the arborist 101, which is specifically an area for people without a lot of knowledge to ask questions about something...post a question in there and the typical response is "you don't know what you're doing, call a professional, you'll get killed, etc"
It would be much more helpful to point out some of the hazards, why their plan may be particularly difficult to implement and if it's a job for the so called professionals, why that is. Just shooting someone down "because" seems to defeat the purpose of that section of the site.
Anyway, just to reiterate, glad I found this place.

Hey, I can tell you from personal experience, when you are out there doing something you have never done before, FOP will shoot you a PM and help you through it.

Great Guy IMO, as are a lot of other people on this site.

As Randy says, may the learning curve never stop, and that really applies to those of us who are way down the ladder from where he is.

I agree with the sentiments posted about this site.
