The main reason many folks that moved on from AS keep going back is to check the classifieds. The volume of items for sale and wanted there is huge. When I am looking for something I normally post on both sites. I often find my parts over there. Sometimes the seller is a member both here and there, but the ad gets answered over there. I think of it like the difference between your local family owned hardware store verses Lowes. You like to go to the local store where you feel welcome and they are genuinely glad to see you, but sometimes they just don't have what you need on hand, so you have to go to the big box store. OPE is just over a year old. AS has been around a long time. If our growth continues at the rate it did last year, we will certainly have a lot more activity in the classifieds section.

i did go over and see what all the bull was about on the 661 and i see no harassment just a honest question why the price was so high . they must have their chairs upside down and sitting on a chair leg over there to get butthurt that easy . i have seen skippy get his butt raked over the asking price of the saws he has sold . i think the mods and owners there are on a power trip and think of that assite as a dictatorship

Allow me to enlighten things .Did it ever occur to anybody that the site administrator on the afore mentioned site plants trolls to "liven " things up ?

Think about it,every hit causes increased viewership which translates into increased advertising fees.Start a little pizzen match people sit on the side lines and watch it happen,talk about it on other sites .Curiousity causes a visit and viola the pay check increases.After a while the troll disappears and never returns then it starts all over .

It didn't take long for me to figure that one out .Amused me to no end ,made him furious .He thought he could out fox this old fox problem being he had no idea of who he was dealing with .

You see once something is made public on the internet it's just like a tat,you can't get rid of it .--enough on that just think of what I said .

While we're on the subject of douchebag reactions on AS, we also have to remember that several of our members only go over there to create a *s-wordstorm. Not saying I don't enjoy it, just that they have to filter through those posts and criticize those with questionable intentions. Maybe jerry misunderstood Julian's intentions...maybe he didn't.

I'm not pleased when I see our members head over to ArboristSite just to stir up trouble. I understand that many people have hard feelings over things they've had happen there, but I feel like we should try to move on and let those feelings go.

I'd rather see some sort of cooperation between the two sites.

For instance.....there is a mod over there that is very good about helping us on any site related issues we might need help with. We are happy to return the favor.

The site owners might be *s-wordheads, but there are some damn good members, and mods on ArboristSite. Always think of those guys first.

I agree with all that. Jerry has helped me more than a few times, both here and there. It's not easy trying to sift through those with good intentions vs those without.

I'd be fine with no swear word censors at all.......but some folks just plain ain't gonna hang out on a site with a bunch of F bombs flying around. I think the right thing to do is moderate ourselves. But.......that don't always work so well either.

We are trying to walk a fine line on not being overly censored, and being too PC. Tricky is what it is. But Fire Truck? Really @exCanuck ???????

Totally uncalled for as the question IMO was fair and well put as not to really be harrasment but just asking the seller why the 2 prices . Any store would have to come clean in the same situation as well .

In defense of that membership on that site there are some very good people .Fact I never said otherwise .

Some mods fact many who really helped the owner out have basically in about every occasion been treated as they were servants ,field hands on the cotton plantations in a manner of speaking .Fact I was once asked to be a mod of which I politely declined .Some have became fed up with the banter either just dropped out or the favorite way that site operated got banned.

Kind of like the Hotel California,once you get in you can never get out on your own accord .Typical of an egomanic .

This! This right here! What I've been saying since I left that place three years ago(or was it four?). I feel dirty every time (very ,very few I may add) I go over there to check hijinks. The faster you turn your back on that mess the faster it will die.

I will never access that forum from my personal computer again.I found out via my computer guy it had embedded trackers on my hard drive.At work they couldn't do it,industrial highly secure private internet .They'd stand a better chance of breaking into Ft Knox.

What's funny though even people like myself who have been banned show up as members .Many many names say 6-8-10 years ago since registration show up but never made a post .Naive as I am you don't suppose that could be an inflation of the actual tally of members? No can't be that would be dishonest
