Stihl pros are easy but if P&C work only the boot can be a booger to work back on in smaller models.
You pop it back in with a piece of chalk line .It's very easy .If the subject comes up again I'll find a picture of the method .You could probably find it on You tube

I like Husqvarna 61’s ,regret selling my 66 , have to say that the old homelite xl-12 and c-series’s are really easy too. I started on the 61’s when I was about twelve rebuilt my dad’s white top one for him. It had seen many years of logging and cabin building. Next was his grey top 87 model. One day I will find a nice one for the collection.

From a dealer perspective, it's saws for which parts are IN STOCK. Gotta be able to finish jobs on one visit to the workbench. Can't be efficient of you are constantly boxing up half done saws to order parts. Why I hate taking in stuff other than Husky/Jonsered.

But ease to work on for me usually means how many steps are needed to get to the part I need to replace. 200 series Huskys almost always win on that score. Example: even the 372, which I love and is fairly easy, has both advantages and disadvantages vs a 272. Things like changing a throttle cable and maybe even replacing the fuel line require pulling the top handle and dropping the tank on a 372. Not the case on the 272.

I like the Torx screws on Stihls. Seems like a small thing but that is kind of the edge tipper for me everytime.

I should say that the Torx screws make them easier to work on for me. However, when you need a replacement screw, there are not too many places to get them other than the dealer. (Yes I do know the places that have them)

With the hex head socket screws of Husky and Echo, you can get them from any industrial supplier.

The best saw to do anything to with mostly just homeowner type tools is the Stihl clamshell saws or maybe the Poulan 25 series saws. I also don't mind working on the Husqvarna 55.
