Ran the 6421 this morning! Really nice running saw! Ran it some locust, cherry and maple. Cant wait for the 7910 top end!

Figured with the new 70cc saws this thread neads a bump.

Good Idea! My favorite 70 cc saws are my ported 462s (one w/20", one with 24"). (one is a MMWS and one is a MOFO)

IMO, it took the manufacturers 30 years to make a saw that was both lighter and stronger than the 10 mm 044! Plus spring AV, clean air filter tech, and M Tronic!

My ported 462s pull a 24" bar in hardwood with authority, and I'm sure they would also pull a 28" just fine. However, the light powerhead balances real nice with either a 24" E bar or the 20" E or Light ES bars. (I have not yet tried a 24" Light ES bar). Unfortunately, I think the 24" E bars are being discontinued, but stock is still available. They are great bang for the buck and light.

Or, just put a Sugi or Tsumura light bar on it, and name it the Axis Powers saw!!

The length and weight of a bar on a saw are very important factors in determining how it feels.

Some saws balance longer bars better than others, so it is important to the conversation.

The power head should be compatible with the intended use.

Besides, I was responding to a suggestion by another member as to why I made the choice that I did.
