I just had to change a second one today, so I took your advice and ordered a bunch of OEM springs. So far, the two broken ones (on two different saws) have been replaced with used OEM. Had to replace recoil parts om the same saw!

I've been doing it to the am huskys too.

To me the don't hold enough before engaging so the idle needs to be to low.

Full tear down and rebuild. There's some serious WTF going on with this one.

Maybe a welding job for Shaun, gotta take a closer look at that bolt hole on the cylinder.

Rebuilt an Efco 8200 last week. “Man I only made one cut with it and it locked up”.

Here’s the gas the out of the tank.....and fuel line
“ there was only a quarter tank of gas in it when you gave it back to me so I poured about another quarter tank of gas in it. Same fuel I’m running in this new husky 550xp”.
Can’t believe that efco burnt a half a tank of gas on one cut......
Had to beat the piston out of the cylinder

Worked on my weedeater. Gutted cat and added some toob.

Welding was a pain. Like welding 1/4” to a soup can.

Ran this unit today. WOW! Throttle was chrisp and it idles like a dream. Very happy!

I've seen trouble with the spurs on some Stihl top handle saws … last year 2 in a month. I think there may have been a bad batch.
