I've been doing it to the am huskys too.I just had to change a second one today, so I took your advice and ordered a bunch of OEM springs. So far, the two broken ones (on two different saws) have been replaced with used OEM. Had to replace recoil parts om the same saw!
Full tear down and rebuild. There's some serious WTF going on with this one.
Maybe a welding job for Shaun, gotta take a closer look at that bolt hole on the cylinder.![]()

Welding was a pain. Like welding 1/4” to a soup can.
Had a Dolmar 6100 with a busted tank on my bench tonight.
