A project I'm doing as a gift to my logger buddy.

Didn't have a 262 or a 357 spare clutch, so we gotta use something else...
560/562 clutch + 262 washer:

Here is one of the reasons why we gotta use a washer (550/560/562 clutch drum has very narrow corner) (the other reason is all them flat hub clutch hubs need to get a bit distance to the drum):

262 mounted with a 560 clutch + 262 washer:

Removed head gasket, sanded squish band, 20th in squish, timings are IN73, TR118, EX 103,5, advanced the timing, HDA-87 carb:

Since I miss a collar, figured out it was time to fix a handle, may not be pretty but a handle is a handle:

Bring that intake to 76-77 brother Tor

I'm sorry but there really is no place in the saw world or anywhere in the word for flat head screws. They are just useless piles of metal in my mind. ROBERTSON or nothing baby!!!!
There is no way I will change the screws out on my saws. Besides they don't come loose. That is how they came from the 70's through the mid 90's.

Timed flat head screws on a fine firearm or hand made furniture etc. is a beautiful thing. There's a place for everything Gary.

Lol got one saw that has never been apart, and all the screws are still intact. Oh and it runs great lol. Not bad from 1978. Good morning DJ.
Good morning. Preach it brother!! LMAO

I wouldn't dream of swapping out the screws on the old poulan either.

This. And those screws were applied without LocTite. Great example is the M2 .50 cal machine gun. A bunch of flat tip screws/bolts in that monstrosity. I have yet to see one suffer from screw loss (that wasn’t attributed to bored service member screwing with it) and those go through a much more violent duty cycle that includes heat cycles.

Only problem is that most of the good old saw's that were made had a lot of those darn flathead screws. Lol. But not hard to replace them with a good torkes screw. :eaea:

Ma Deuce for tree dropping snags and heavy leaners. It makes sense in my head.
