So I put together a 372 clone saw, and all I did performance wise was clean up the castings muffler mod and machine the base to get.020 squish, ended up with 175 psi, but it was lackluster, my stihl ms361 would beat it with the same bar and chain. So it on the bench to get some port work, and a chance to use my new 90° spiny thing. I put my new wheel on it an the numbers tell the story 107/137/75. I was thinking something like 100/122/77, how much compression would i lose going from 107 to 100-102? I did some grinding on the transfers and a touch on the exhaust, I don’t want to kill compression, so right now I am 105/125/75, should I go more or trow it together and see how she runs as is. What would you guy do?

I'd use the gasket as a reference and cut the extension to match the case. And then flare the lowers out to the gasket also. Your current numbers should run good with decent torque. Not high strung

Thanks! Will do! Am I better off going to 100/120-122/77-80 or leaving it as is, I like torque, but if it’s better to go another route I am open!!

So I rebuilt the carb on the Mac 120 for fun because I found a new/old carb kit in the box that it came in. Can somebody explain what these doflinkies r? There's four of them 2 on each side. it appears to be epoxy of some sort.

Not familiar with that particular model, but Mac used plugs with sealer to cover the ports, they drilled the port opening on the outside and Then plugged the hole from outside

Ok so thats the " transfer" port? And it does look factory im sure ur rite.

Nice. Looks the same. What cc is that?. I got a kart here with a honda 5hp on it. Would be cool to put something on it that goes 13k rpms my kid doesnt reach the pedals yet so i got time. Won't actually fit on my bench but I'll send a picture anyway

It’s a 125cc block.Nice kart! Kids grow fast!

125cc. Thats alot of power! And Thanks! And they do grow fast. I dont know anything about karts but i think in my research its an older Margay frame. All new powder coat. Guy said his kid didnt want it cuz he wanted the money for a cell phone. I got it cheap, figured it would get used one day. Or trade for chainsaw

Got a few more hours in on a 262 after dinner last night. Has to be one of the simplest saws to work on.

An interesting finding was that Meteor sends the single ringed 262XP piston with an F-cast caber. I’m assuming they want more tension with a single ring.

Nice cool morning here, figured I’d get a muffler mod done .........


Went to get the TIG ready and when I turned on the shielding gas, the Argon came flying outta the regulator / flow meter weep hole.




Ordering a new one. I can’t really complain, this one has been good to me for over 20 years.

Would be simple to mod, but Husky’s oil better than Stihls do.
