Would have to swap air filter covers, my decomp is located different for the 7910 topend
I’m putting this back together. It’s a mix of junk I have and aftermarket parts. All “moving parts” including bearings are oem. Cylinder will be a slant fin. I still need 3 small parts before I can continue.![]()

Filter base is gloss but the filter cover is matte.
Mineral spirits in the parts washerLooking at the first couple pics I thought it caught fire! It cleaned up really well. What did you use?

Oddly my 7910 Dolmar is gloss air filter and matte cylinder cover, my Makita is same way, will be nice to have one that is all matte except the base.
Nah. Mineral spirits isn't that strong. Similar to kerosene. And it didn’t washout or dull the paint. Is it a heated parts washer?
