254 XP for my Dad, original cases were junk. Replaced with a set of 261 cases, new bearings, gaskets and seals, Meteor piston, carb kit, clutch drum, rim, clutch drum bearing, bar pad plate, and muffler. Almost done now just waiting on a few smalls, like a fuel tank.![]()

Did you order new fuel tank, or are you waiting for a used one?
If you need a tank I'm pretty sure that I got a spare one and I plan to ship over something to the states inside a month

Get a container so the bar will fit in it. Then pour in white vinegar until its covered. Then let it sit for a few hours to a day or so. All depends on how bad the rust is.Awhile ago I seen a posting about someone cleaning up an old blade (rusted) with Limes and Lemons.
So, today I decided to give this a shot with my 1958 Homelite EZ that was my grandfathers.
The roller end I am using Lime, the other half Lemon.
Should be interesting...

That's a Homelite410 chain vise. He has a thread on them in the "Just Chains" forum. What is the “bar” in the vice? Looks handy

Beaglebriar has it correct, but that particular one is my second custom one from Mike. It has more beef for holding the drivers better. What is the “bar” in the vice? Looks handy

IIRC, the top rails get another machining step so filing jigs can be used with his vices. I’ll never need to worry about that, and appreciate the extra beef for square filing. So I asked him if he could leave the material there .......... way better for me.What's different? Top rail just heavier/beefier?
BR600 back pack blower, with no compression. Squirted two stroke oil on piston, no change, took the muffler off, could hear air escaping out the exhaust valve. Squirted oil on the valve through the port, compression for a couple cycles and it would wear off. Repeat, the same. So I checked, plenty of lash, so that was not it. Decided to really squirt some oil in it and left for a whole day. Compression was returned. Must have been some carbon or something built up in there pretty good. So I set the valve lash with the little Stihl tool and put back together and ran. blew a little smoke from my oil squirting but ran just fine after that, and I didn't have to tear the entire machine down to get to the end result.
