Probably Super Clean that does that.this stuff does not eat aluminum. There was another purple kind I tried that did.
Purple Power also ate aluminum. Simple Green HD is also purple but does not affect aluminum.this stuff does not eat aluminum. There was another purple kind I tried that did.

Could be wrong, but I believe all those with a reputation for eating aluminum, dulling or removing paint can be diluted to work the same as ones that don't. They all may even have the same active ingredient, just more or less of it.Purple Power also ate aluminum. Simple Green HD is also purple but does not affect aluminum.
I wouldn't assume that to be the case. The ones that eat aluminum are caustic...and yes adding water would lower the PH, but it still would damage the aluminum.Could be wrong, but I believe all those with a reputation for eating aluminum, dulling or removing paint can be diluted to work the same as ones that don't. Never do. The caustic stuff in Super Clean is Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Metasilicate. Was told at least one of the other major brands has the same, just less of it. May have been @huskihl that had the skinny on that genre of cleaners.I wouldn't assume that to be the case. I like using Sea Foam on carbon, should work on crabs too!!How does that purple stuff do on carbon?
I think the Sawsalvage.co re-pop is about the best aftermarket option - https://www.sawsalvage.co/products/...l-056-magnum-56mm?_pos=4&_sid=2b0e3bdb4&_ss=r
Let us know how it works out (or doesn't)...Thanks JJ, I went ahead and ordered one up.
Which saw are you putting that piston into? Thanks JJ, I went ahead and ordered one up.
Check their ebay listingsWhich saw are you putting that piston into?
I got one of those performance type pistons for a coworker's MS 261 and it worked out really well, I went to get one for mine and they were sold out.

Did for me, I dropped a carburetor in a jar full, and it instantly started foaming like a couple of Alka Seltzer tablets. Pulled it out as fast as I could and rinsed it off in water and was already turning black. It was named Purple Power and I bought it at an auto parts store.this stuff does not eat aluminum. This is different than what you used then. The simple green HD doesn’t touch aluminum.Did for me, I dropped a carburetor in a jar full, and it instantly started foaming like a couple of Alka Seltzer tablets.
