Switch to a 357/359 filter elbow and filter, uses the clip to hold the filter on and the elbow is larger in diameter allowing more air to flow faster.
Yes i will do that! Its coming back to me now. This thing has a HDA 199 on it ritw now. Mike T. Told me to ask u about them? :D But i dont remember what carb he said to replace it with... or will this work cuz its pretty much stock?

199 is fine for stock or ported, also the 198 is Available yet same as a 199 without the accelerator pump, also the Zama el42 is a great choice also, I always use a 346 intake boot as the 357/359 don't fit the cylinder as well.
Thats was it. The zama el42! He said u had probs with the 199's. said u had a pile of um. Lol! im using the stock 351 intake boot. I will look into the 357/359 intake elbow and filter for sure. What about a MM on this? The lil 1/2" hole with a screen under the scoop seems real constrictive. The whole housing is hollow. I dont know if this is stock or not? I could knock a big hole in the front and put a scoop in but this is my first mag case build and I want to make it prettier them the rest. Any suggestions?

I usually add a second deflector to the PTO side of the muffler I usually like to make the hole around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, just be careful to keep the heat away from your brake handle, the el42 seems better mannered to me, but I have 3 of these ported all w different carbs, all run well, the 351 intake boot should be fine as it fits the cylinder well.

Excellent! It does fit well. And ill watch The brake handle heat as well. I've seen deflectors sold under people signatures but I cannot recall who has them. Any suggestions? And the screen as well I don't know what kind to get. My sister would be pissed if I burnt her woods down:D

I use a lot of the 288 husky deflectors, type deflector in the search criteria should bring some up, I know there were a few members who sell them, 1 person sells 3 sizes can't remember his user name right now but I have used a lot of his medium deflectors, I know @drf256 and @rattler use his delfectors as well.

Dang Kevin, that's awesome, cannot believe how far that saw has come from the pile of broken parts it was.
YOU made that happen bud !!

I didn't do anything, seriously, it was all Kevin.
:risas3:

Yup, that’s what I use.

Another member in upstate NY makes them now as well.

Shut that winter flap, keep that unwanted heat away.
