Mine I did a little different. I cut the front mount off another busted handle and grafted it on. I cut two two small pieces of oak to fit snugly inside, then glued them in, and used a soldering gun and some strips of the busted handle as filler to 'weld' them together.View attachment 17045

Then I filled the sides and 'welded' them in, and pre-drilled and screwed all the way through both sides for good measure.

Cleaned up and a little paint. It feels really strong, but I guess time will tell...

Great job an easy fix in the end

soon to be a ms660 and ms650... They are ugly as sin but a little elbow grease and they will be going again shortly. I already have most of the MIA parts sitting in a box somewhere...????

This will also give me a good excuse to go through my 064/066/660 box and move the spare parts into a plastic tub so I don't have mice invading in my cardboard-box "spare parts bins." I'm sure eventually I'll see a hole chewed in a corner but rubbermaids work better for now!

That looks awesome Mike. I need to make a few for around my firepit.
Yeah is kinda fun to do. Milled those slabs with a poulan 46cc piped before I cut the silencer off. Those galvanized pipes are going to remain long for a cover and also tiki torches. I have a few more to make and maybe sell a couple.

Back to my 42 pto seal project, pictures say more then words so here it is...........

6201 Bearing instead of the famous NLA slacker 543301 bearing.

I got this seal holder made, it is just the start of the project, we need a different dimension to make it work.....Right now it has dimensions ID:20mm OD:32mm W:4mm.
Between the seal holder and bearing there will come an o-ring

Here is the idea for pressing the seal holder.......the oil pump:

I am not done with this holder, need to shave off 1mm, and that also bring me over to an seal who has ID:12mm W:3mm, OD is not important.
This is how it look at the moment.

To center the seal holder I will use the groove in the bearing:

When I am done and happy with the result I will make an thread about it with all dimensions and parts needed for this 242 modd
