Nice!

But you could make it is hot saw. Just saying lol.
The big issue with a stock cr500 is the peak hp is only a 5500-6000rpm, a cr250 is closer to 8000rpm peak power. Big sprockets would be needed! I can only imagine pull starting one, I have seen guys cry kick starting them! Lol

They make some pretty big sprockets for the harvesters lol.

So when your all said and done on this bike how many hp will it be making? And where will that power band end up ?

Shooting for 70hp at between 72-7500 rpm still want a lot of torque. I really want to build him a banshee engine based hill climber, then 115-125 hp at 11,000 rpm is pretty easy to get at around 500cc

Piston speed is a big problem as well because of the long stroke, this will be near formula 1 piston speed with over rev!

Ya those harvester bar set ups would be cool, I think a 350ish cc single would be better for a hot saw, good rpm and torque, but I don’t think I am going there any time soon! Lol

#2 rebuild still waiting on coil. Think he is going to bite the bullet and buy new.

Starting to run out of parts and fasteners is making it a pita on last 2 rebuilds. This one has new espian piston with cabers.
#3 will need alot plus coil. oem piston thick.

#1 was out cutting again yesterday the owner said. thin

Check them saws out if you can. Especially when buying off all the online markets out there nowdays.

346 comes back stolen I drove up to BG to meet a guy to buy. So now meeting a detective from MI sheriff to hand it over as evidence against the guy. So heading back up to BG and hoping to be put on a list for retribution.

I hate a freaking thief.

Maybe as part of a victim's restitution fund you can get your money back at least? Check with the PD and the court system. There should be something in place.
Just curious how you found out it was stolen?

Bought a part saw long time ago from one of my dealers, cheap, 40$. Not a huge fan of them but needed the muffler and brake flag.

Cleaned and inspected:

Main issue why they had given her up and taken part from her:

She is a starter now, but since she lost more parts so I could finish my 357 xpg I kinda put her away.....
Got a 357xpg (freebie) on Monday who had cracked the crankcase due a tree fall, so by pure luck my forgotten 359 will get heat, and a 357 top end:

Turns out it was a stepson and had took 3 saws in MI. The grandpa had died and within 1 day was broke in to.

Feel for the dad the executor of the estate knowing he has a pos for a stepson. Said he would make it right.

Now the long wait begins to see if I get my $ back.

I had already went through saw checking over, tuned, touched up chain and test cut with.

LOL I had already sold the saw. But was holding for local pick up.
Good thing it didnt get shipped 10hrs away to the other guy wanting it. Was like 6 folks in line.

One of those deals where I say. Everything happens for a reason. This was one of those.

Shhh. ;) But told the sheriff. I wasnt worried about the saw and would trade the $ for 1min in a holding cell with the pos thief. ;) I said I maybe getting old but I think I can last a min to get my $ worth. :p:risas3:

Life isnt about $ with me.

Got the new coil and ran the saw last night...... What a difference! Did some noodling in white oak with the 28” Sugi/72LGX, maintain 10,200 in the cut (i wasn’t leaning hard on it). Still running really fat while breaking in. I took a video but don’t have a youtube account (and don’t want one).
