Once you have it finished with 2000 grit buff it like a paint job. Then wax it and treat it like a painted surface. It works good, and saves you some money.

I use a clear UV resistant acrylic (2 mist coats and a medium wet coat) over the 2000 swirl, then polish it and apply a wax. Has worked perfect on other headlights (2002 Forester and 2004 Forester XT). Tried and true, just this time the damn adhesion promoter failed. Its a bit old, so this time no adhesion promoter.

I already have this stuff on hand, so no additional cost

I got 1 headlight on my envoy I can not keep clear. Shows $42 and ship there.
Never thought they would have been that cheap. Here I been wasting a bunch of time for years now and never stays clear.

Other one still looks like new. o_O

Thanks for bringing this up.

Lombardini LA300 engine overhaul, 76mm bore, 66mm stroke, 4-stroke.

Beefy innards, bearing less big end

Engine suddenly lost compression, but cylinder, piston and rings look quite good.
We (my dad and I) are assuming that the gaps of all three rings lined up and caused loss of compression - the piston doesn't have a single ring locating pin.

I'm getting a new set of rings from Greece.

How much ring end gap did it have?

First 2 rings is for sealing the piston, the 3th is called an oilscraper, ''olieschraapveer'' scraping oil over the bore.

Strange what happend.
If you placed the ring gapes each 120 degrees from the other you are fine.

I have no idea, it's my dad's mower, he's actually servicing it.
I guess those rings tend to rotate because when this LA300 engine has compression one is pulling ones arm joints apart trying to start it - killer compression.

The engine worked fine and all of the sudden died not having compression.
My dad checked cylinder head gasket, valves - it seemed OK.
It was hay making season so we just sourced another engine block (which also had flaws, but my dad fixed them) and this one was sitting collecting dust.
My dad is checking this engine block fixing it up as a spare for future needs.

They actually have a diesel engine that interchanges with the LA300 gasoline engine, but my dad doesn't want to make the rather costly switch.

Fixed up LA300 engines can be had for 200-250$ in Croatia and they are monsters when they run properly.

Too F***ing much, I can't even walk in the shop right now. The Turf Tracer in the second picture is done, just got $1500.00 worth of work. The Lazer in the same picture has a bad control module, is equipped with RED Technology, what a P.O.S.

My neighbors uncle passed away and he is helping clean up his property.
The man has over 100 riding mowers, 20% of them run.
Looks like we will be fixing and selling mowers in our spare time for a while.
Don't like mowers or cutting grass.

On the bench now are old wooden chair parts to be glued back together and a POS Homelite blower with no spark.

Trash can will fix that blower.

Fixed up my helmet. The ear muffs broke and found a pair that would work with a little modding.

Husky 550 xp. Scoring on ext side. Barely anything on int side. Pulls over smooth. I could clean cylinder up myself IMO. But I wasnt interested in the saw for even $100 my cost myself. But I did go pick it up for a CRG member.
