Slowly since June I have been tearing down my grandfathers 1958 Homelite EZ.
I am about 90% complete in dismantling it. Only have a few seals and bearings to remove then the real cleanup can start.

Taking inventory of what needs to be replaced / ordered

Items bagged and tagged along with the right documentation to know what I am doing
(Did I say that?? Hahaha Right.... )

A few parts have been thru the blast cabinet to give me an idea on the work that needs to be done.
(Notice the site on the computer in the back???)

Honda EU3000i in for a new starter rope. :BangHead:

At least they are quiet.

We're a Honda dealer too joe...love when they come in for recoil repairs. Customers don't understand the time involved in doing that job...how much do you charge for those?

Not enough. I typically tell them two hours, so $140.00 plus the rope. This one was a lot more though, it had been in an accident and needed a new fuel tank, main cover, legs, and feet. If you have never had the pleasure of replacing a tank on one of these I wish you the best of luck, total disassembly required. Parts are outrageous too, I think the total bill was like $1,100.00

I replaced the rear cover and the molded insulation piece on one due to damage. Pretty sure it was around 500 with a few other small parts thrown in.

Pulling the engine out is a real treat. After the third one it's a little easier but still pretty much sucks.

The customer is always right ;)

Sir Yes Sir, like the landscaping company with the 1998 vintage Husqvarna zero turn taking up space in my shop right now. I told them when they first dropped it off for "Just a deck belt" (leaking oil badly, deck howling,(bad idlers, bad spindles (never greased) blades shot, PTO clutch wore out, drive pulleys wore out) pump drive seized up, steering dampeners blown out) that it was wore out and they just needed to put the money towards a new one. They insisted that I put it back together, $2,100.00 later.
