Aaaand here's Johnny....
One of the guys I work with was complaint about how choppy feeling his chain was. Went forward ok, but backwards would catch...
Brought it home...404 bar/chain...3/8 drive sprocket
Luckily I had a .404 sprocket here that will fit.

I'm seeing a ton of potential in this saw. The factory port shapes and timing numbers are awesome.
Definitely gonna be a "less is more" thing with this saw.
Last jug I did was 101/121/77.

The transfers fell right there after a band cut. No need to move them at all. And the saw runs well.

Oddly, the decomp Mahle had better numbers than the non-decomp.

The first of my Solo Twins finally went back together this week. I have a second one that has the very rare 110cc topend. I'll be doing it ASAP while the assembly is all still fresh in my mind. This one took about 12 hours to figure out and put back together!

My great friend Rob stopped by to see me, so he got the honors of firing it up for the first time, since I'm recovering from surgery.

That's not odd in my experience. I prefer a higher exhaust so any of them work done for me

This saw has a decomp mahle cylinder.
The stock numbers were 104/121/71.
Also this saw has AM cases. Without a cylinder gasket stock it was a head slapper. Even with a .020 gasket it only had .013" squish clearance.
After cutting the base and squish the cylinder numbers are at 105/122/72 with a gasket and .018" squish clearance. There's a few boogers in the upper transfers that need to be cleaned up and the upper transfer port bevels are jagged and sharp.
My basic plan is numbers around 102/121/75. This should leave me a little room to go back in if need be to readjust the intake and or exhaust ports.

Another 60cc done. Poulan 3450 type 3 test and tuned today. Bought it as a non runner over winter if I remember right. It was for sure a non runner pulling 90psi with a stuck ring on back third.

Crosshatched the cylinder as I do this on all builds now on used saws. New ring and base gasket in this one.

A good buddy of mine dropped of his climbing saw. Needs it back asap. Says it doesn't have any power.
It was screaming lean at wot. Adjusting the H screw had no effect. I checked a few things out and everything looked good. Pulled the carb apart and found a big ole brown booger in the passage for the H screw. Seems to respond to adjustment now. I'll try it in some wood quickly tomorrow after work.IMG_5247.JPG
