I'm wishing you all the best with this one Mike, but the dang clutch is on backwards!!!

The outboard clutch is a little different then what I'm used to but this saw is so simple to work on and it's built like a brick. I like it.

Bingo found the issue the crimp clamp was spinning free on the boot.
Which clamp do you guy's use.
I'm out of any that fit.
Cylinder should clean up fine.
He has a unique way of marking his saw's lol
Someone stole his last saw.
Every big part has his name and phone number so i won't show it.
But it will make me look suspicious when i test it lol

loctite 518 on the intake boot... that clamp shouldn't be spinning... they are a devil to get on there...

find out why its spinning

Then see if it will run.

Thanks tor i found a 372 clamp that will fit as well.

I've gone back to the 346 clamp nowadays, if screw clamp, 390 clamp is a perfect fit.

Don't remember I've got several 372 clamps and no 390 clamps left lol

Is there no hard plastic piece over the rubber boot???

I believe Randy @Termitebuffet found a small CV clamp that works well.

Thanks the oem clamp was just a little loose.
Over time it just worked itself loose it was clamped just not good enough.
It's getting all new everything it's his favorite saw.

Yessir. Works great. Crimp tight with diagonal cutters or DDave sells a nice crimper especially for these types of clamps..., also used in landscaping irrigation systems. The OEM "upgrade" clamp is junk and the "upgrade" intake bulkhead is also unnecessary. Just trim the original one. The OEM upgrade kit is like $11. The CV clamp from NAPA is $1.49. Part number is 6865833. Once it's on it's on. They don't come loose and the only way to get one off is by cutting it at the crimp.

gonna build the clutch cover from parts, and then it'll be tested tomorrow... no wood to test on though
