I'm wishing you all the best with this one Mike, but the dang clutch is on backwards!!!
The outboard clutch is a little different then what I'm used to but this saw is so simple to work on and it's built like a brick. I like it.

A good pressure washing after soaking them in foaming grill cleaner helps everything go smoother smells good too.View attachment 85542 View attachment 85543 View attachment 85544
Bingo found the issue the crimp clamp was spinning free on the boot.
Which clamp do you guy's use.
I'm out of any that fit.
Cylinder should clean up fine.
He has a unique way of marking his saw's lol
Someone stole his last saw.
Every big part has his name and phone number so i won't show it.
But it will make me look suspicious when i test it lol20170827_195157.jpg 20170827_195210.jpg 20170827_134341.jpg

I've gone back to the 346 clamp nowadays, if screw clamp, 390 clamp is a perfect fit.

I believe Randy @Termitebuffet found a small CV clamp that works well.

Yessir. Works great. Crimp tight with diagonal cutters or DDave sells a nice crimper especially for these types of clamps..., also used in landscaping irrigation systems. The OEM "upgrade" clamp is junk and the "upgrade" intake bulkhead is also unnecessary. Just trim the original one. The OEM upgrade kit is like $11. The CV clamp from NAPA is $1.49. Part number is 6865833. Once it's on it's on. They don't come loose and the only way to get one off is by cutting it at the crimp.
