You do have what looks like a MF hood as a bench though ...Saw coming together very nicely :)
Good eye!
It is a MF licensed build by IMT, it's a IMT 549.

Yeah, that hood came in handy for the photo shoot.
Was nice to stand upright after cleaning and assembling the saw on the floor.

That's the best kind of bench to have! What MF model is that equivalent to? Awhile back, a bunch of gray market MF style tractors from India came in under a few different names. "Tafe" was most common, painted Allis-Chalmers orange. Supposedly, they were license built continuations of previous MF models, mostly the 230/231.

Interesting setup for a 281. Some ingenuity, and pretty nice work...
This is the clutch cover that was on the 281 I picked up...272xp. Lol

This is what should be on there...

Workmanship was done pretty well compared to most cobbled up fixes I've seen.

I honestly have no idea!
I tried a quick Google search and all I came up with is that the IMT 549 DeLuxe is some kind of mash up.
It has rear wheel drive with differential blockage, is powered by a atmospheric 2.5 Liter Diesel engine, and features a 10+2 unsynchronized gear box.

It is a decent tractor.
My dad often complaint that it is too lightweight and can't get traction to the ground.
Also, the cabin is mowing the weight center too high making it dangerous to use this tractor on side slopes.
This same chassis was made without a cabin and it was preferred over the cabin model.

Finally......new seals,meteor and so on...

Timings are: IN 76, TR 124, EX 103, widen IN and EX, advanced the timing with half the key, opened up the airfilter, MM, sanded the squish band, no head gasket, will probleby try out a few different bigger carbs.

Friend saw, 2159 year 06, Carbon scored, leaks around the cylinder foot and not to forget the leaky boot, there is no secret that I'm no fan of those 3xx intake boot systems.....

They won't fit on the bench.

Chinese saw on the bench right now. Widened the ports and polished the intake. Wondering if I should run both rings or just one. What do yall think?

Did you port them or just bump the timing and muffler mod them ?

Bumping the timing on these newest versions is a no go. Two of these have the squish cut, some port work, a few tweaks to the intake tract, and a muffler mod.

The other of just has the intake tweaks, and a muffler mod.
