Funny Story....got this from a shop I do work for....THEY got it because another shop told the customer the carbs for 357's unavailable and they were SURE it needed a new carb. (That was NOT a Husqvarna shop...The one I do work for IS a Husqvarna shop) So it landed in my lap to sort out. Had a scored area in the cylinder and on the piston (Salvagable) RIGHT under the decomp hole, the auto decomp hose was rotted......so someone fixed that. (NOT the place I work with!) What do you think...?? :)

( How about "a little aluminum will pass right thru...won't hurt a thing! )

( Maybe a Comedy Of Errors?? )

Got a early 034 back in awhile back on trade for labor. 034 early case with 2 piece dust cover. 036 oem black cylinder (figure painted maybe but looks factory ) with meteor p kit. Newish 360 tank that always was crooked.
Needed seals. Used echo fuel line. Opened up the muffler as I hate this muffler design with cage and blocked off front exit using tiny holes. .
But while it is here I took care of some other things. Figured out why the tank set crooked and got tired of looking for the 2 piece cover so I took later 1 piece cover and made my own. Redneck repair :borra2:

Showing 2 piece in bottom pic that I went by.

1 pic showing how tank set crooked.

Noticed yesterday while I was tuning my fs80 that it's cylinder was black too. Not sure why but it's the factory one. It's 20+ years old and not sure if it came from the factory that way or if 20 years of use just made it darker.

288 XP in for bearings and seals, saw was ran for a very long time with bad A/V mounts. These cases are NLA (Not sure why, they are still building these in Brazil) a very generous forum member has offered to fix them.

For reference this is what those holes should look like. Not sure why these holes are beat out so bad, the rest of the saw appears to be low hour. Check out this clutch, could almost be sold for new! 20170807_163914.jpg

Whats the fix for the holes? And it sounds like someone needs to make a road trip to Brazil

There are two good fixes, the first is to TIG up the holes then re-drill and tap. The other is to drill the holes out larger and make steel inserts that thread in. That is the route that we are taking this time.

Any flat surface at my residence has a gravitational attraction to random objects and half completed projects. Both the wife and I are guilty of it. What's on my bench in the garage? Let's see here. Bullet casting pot, lead dipper, ingot mold, bits of lead all over the place, work gloves, Dolmar service manual, roll of wire, safety glasses, nuts and bolts that go to who knows what, tin snips, half empty roll of weedeater line, drips of grease, oil, and epoxy. You get the idea!

My tool cart is what I actually use for working on small machines. Because I use it to hold tools while working on stuff, it never has random junk on it. To work on a saw or weedeater I just shove the tools to one side to make room. Or just sit the machine on top of the tools.

I don't have a bench, but if I had my recently purchased abused Dolmar PS-7310 would occupy it.

I got some new parts in last week and yesterday, installed most of them today.
She's getting pretty again! :)

She'll get the US style 1 spikes off my PS-7900 and my PS-7900 will receive US style 2 spikes.

Can't hardly wait for a photo shoot!
