Thought this one was going to be stock? Or little done to it? Lol
Yeah... well... once you start grinding, you get to thinking how much better it will go if you take a bit more out, and then you see a bit more that needs to come out, then you figure it will flow better if you take that bit out, then you have a big pile of shavings and a ported saw :-)

If I had the skill, tools and knowledge I would do the same, but sense I dnt I have to pay for my saws to run so damn good, bad for my wallet but it helps others and the economy, plus I get to know all you guys this way. I tip my hat to you guys that accel at this, it is an art form in itself. Please keep up the good work, and keep posting pics for me to drool over.

Shindaiwa 575. Talk about tight tolerances. Had to heat the piston to get the wristpin in. Then hot finger it together without losing the wristpin bearing bushings.

A lot of the Shindaiwas were like that, and I never understood why. The German and Swede saws work fine with a wrist pin that slips in and no thrust washers. Pushing the pins in and out with a tool is not fun.

Tor, I have tried every which way to keep the plasti gauge stuck to the piston instead of the jug. Its prolly 50% stuck on the band. How do you do it?
John, sometime 50% get stucked on the band for me also, sometime I get lucky and they all are on the piston.
I consider to oil the squish band a tad and see if it help.

Try some 'Silicone" grease on the band. That stuff is as slippery as snot on ice !!
