Until I get it all pressure washed I have no idea if it can be salvaged.
Bearing seats are all good so that's something :p

Piston, and crank are done. Cyl is iffy...
Might make it a 757, lol

ouch, good luck. got to say that looks pretty bad. when I first split my cases I thought maybe I was dealing with a little surface junk... but after a quick blast in the cabinet it was clear the rot was much deeper. I'm sure people have fixed far worse, but not worth it for me.

Is the shaft repaired or replaced with another one?
I repaired the crankshaft, but, I have another one arriving today. If the one arriving isn't in better condition I'll use the one I repaired and just shim the bearing. I have a Pro-X rod ready to go.

More under than on the bench. Finally got around to installing a drawer from my Gramps bench that I’ve dragged with me through the years. Pretty cool when you really look at it. View attachment 407969

Small improvement for OEM outer felling dog attachment on the 572XP/XPG, by including provisions of captive bar nuts.

The stock studs could be 2 or 3 threads longer IMO with this setup. But it's an improvement for the time being.

I ran into a similar situation when I converted my 2152 to the 455 cover. The studs are just a couple threads short to me. The more useful chain adjuster is worth it though.

Just knock them out and replace with longer ones, easy deal.

I should have mentioned that this was made possible from the @Woodslasher shelf re-org parts.

Now just need to acquire a west coast inner dog to go with it.
I am liking the extra bite with even just the outer.
