I've seen several BP-1's but none that ran .Dan Henry had one he got in a horse trading deal he offered to sell me .Something was wrong with the carb .I declined the offer .I like the challenge but I've got more irons in the fire already than I'll ever finish in two life times .

Here is what happens when you put a set of cases in the ultrasonic cleaner for too long: (the paint started peeling off)

I have some Summit Racing epoxy primer and single stage acrylic urethane silver/gray paint coming...we'll see how that goes.

Not surprising. That gray paint comes off if you look at it wrong.

Here, too, someone was accessing the carburetor, it was loose and the seals were twisted, it was running so richly that it could not maintain the idling speed. I have reduced the dose of fuel twice and it still runs rich. Partner B400

Started fixing my old lathe up today and got the legs finished up except for the castors. The lathe will be getting a new 1.5hp motor, it had a .5hp on it, with a VFD and a paint job. I also ordered a power feed for a mill and I.m going to see if I can get it to work an this lathe.

There's too much snow to ride, so I figure it's a good time to knock off some mods on one of the bikes. I did some mild work to the ports, these modern bikes are almost perfect from the factory...just some minor tweaking of the upper transfers. Also some timing changes to the ex port.

Next step is head mods, squish is really wide(.080".) I plan to bring it down to the .045-.050" range...got a baseline for head volume, as I'm going to machine the combustion chamber as well...I only want a mild bump in compression.

If I'm happy with how this turns out, I might mill the carb out to 38mm from its current 36mm configuration. The motocross version of this bike has more aggressive porting and the 38mm carb, and is still very ridable. This bike is designed with "ridability" as the priority...I should be able to make a "racier" bike without it being some unrideable monster.

I have been working on some 1981 Honda scooters off and on for the past couple of months. Parts are hard to come by, while repairing one problem another often arises, and I have been battling a leaking carburetor seat due to corrosion. I have made a new seat and installed it. The old one was casted into the carburetor body and was not replaceable......carburetors are no longer available. These things have been a challenge, but kinda fun.

Problems I have solved:

leaking oil tank at sight gauge
leaking fuel valve (x2)
Rusted fuel tank (x2)
Carburetor allowing injector oil to bypass (x2)
Leaking needle and seat (x2)
Runing poorly due to dirty carburetor (x2)
Leaking tire tube
battery replacement
replaced a large number of light bulbs
Oil pump clogged (x2)
Dry rotted fuel/oil lines

While working with injected oil type equipment, I always use a 2 stroke fuel mix for fuel. It paid off for sure this time due to oil pump issues that arose.
