Must resist....starts easy idles real nice.
Why in the F am I trying to see how to defeat the limiters and looking for ways I can open up the muffler before I even run it in wood.

I spent part of the holiday weekend working on my car, and then I built this pig:

I used a Ducati coil that came on certain Stihl 026 saws and gave it a few degrees of timing advance, along with an
early WJ-48 carb. Cylinder is an almost period correct mint bore jug with a new Meteor piston and rings.

If you guys haven't treated yourselves to one of these, they run pretty darn good.

Yes, yes they do Jacob....especially when a fellow called Scott Kunz molests the cylinder

Were they all blue?

My brain was thinking they were a hazard yellow/orange color...

I've seen some Ducati coils that came in Efco/Olympyk/Oleo-Mac saw that were orange or yellow.

All of the ones I seen in Stihl saws are blue on the back. They seem to like being advanced more than the IIDA/CDIC coils.

My Stihl Ducati is all black I think. I gotta check.

It might be an early SEM - Stihl contracted with SEM for a while for coils on several of the small and mid-range saws.

The SEM coils run good but have a high failure rate.

I need to get my 066 back together one of these days.
I've been debating getting the cases powdered and that has me stalled out in it.

I have never been disappointed that I got cases powder coated. I have been very disappointed after a build that I didn't get them coated!
