I bought two 353's on seperate occasions and Both had that AV limiter area broken off. Not exactly glad that it is a weak point but at least i'm not alone i guess.
Maybe it comes from people pinching the bars and jerking on the saw, just a guess.

As I posted earlier, I was waiting for new OEM fuel/ impulse lines to come in for my scrap yard MS441 and was glad I did as the original ones pretty much broke apart while removing them a second time. View attachment 265826 View attachment 265827 View attachment 265828
Well she's all together now, and running. I made a few test/tuning cuts with a 25" bar and it pulls nicely.
I have never had a carburetor with the limiter caps still present for this saw though so I'm also puzzled what the initial setting would be from seated?
Those have a limited coil so don’t go by how it sounds. Tune in cut, 1 turn out should get you close.

I think you are the minority, not the majority.
South Carolina, is probably the last vestige of free wheeling America that I found. People are ridiculously nice and polite here but don't tell them how to live or you'll get a blessing! Lol

No pics.
Did the top end on a 661 c m that had snagged a ring,, thanks Jacob
Disassembled a 460 that is lightly scored, saved the jug.
Resealed a 345 husky that had a large air leak where the spacer meets the plastic block, what a pain.

Heres were my initial tuning is , I'm a little bit past 1 turn on the high/ low . Seems to pull pretty good and the throttle response is good
I used Caber rings instead of what came with the kit so she smokes for a second on start up , I imagine the torque will get better with break in , but not bad for a 100.00$ less Bar . , it's funny but the fuel and impluse lines cost me more then the saw.
It's a fairly large Pecan trunk in the video and square chisel skip with a 7 pin rim ,because thats what I had on hand.

On a MS441 with limiters … if it is stock I think the factory settings are 1/4 turn out on the low and 3/4 turn out on the high (all the way to the stop). If you do any mods, including a muffler mod, pull those limiters and open it more (generally the low to 34 - 1 and the Hi to 1 to 1+1/8, but always tune the Hi by ear and make shore it 4 strokes out of the cut.
