Building two more 272s and cleaning guns
Been shooting a lot on this vacation20200616_183608.jpg 20200616_191321.jpgI'm new to the latest generation of impacts
I use this for everything
Got a impact drill bit set and adaptors in today.20200616_200040.jpgI can rebuild a mower deck in minutes
Because I snap all the bolts off
And have to replace everything anyway.
Hl had 268 meteor pistons cheap so I'll build 2 more when they arrive.

@gurwald:
Just curious,
Did you go with the 44.3 because it’s OE, or you just had it on hand rather than the popular AM 45??
Reason I ask; it was a really hard decision for me, choosing between the 2. I went with an OE 44.3, finally at the end. Wife got the kit for me for Fashahs day, so had to make a decision to get it by the weekend.... hopefully. Want to spend the day in my realm. But I had both in my cart for almost a month... so just had my girl eenie meenie minee moe it For me. haha! Hope I’m not going back by next season... buuuut why the hell not.

Here is my humble bench. Some orange stuff and my redneck sharpening rig.
Question, if anybody can respond. Think it’s ok to soak used chains in kerosene?

Those are nice impacts. I've had a couple sets, first set was the white ones, second was the blue. I sold the white ones cause they just sat around. I use the blue set at home.

Most of the drill bits at HF are not that great, but their Hercules line seems to be real nice quality. Drilled a fair amount of metal with them w/o them dulling. The pack I got only has the common sizes (not a million bits).

I also keep one of their cheaper sets around with almost every size imaginable, just to have the correct diameter for softer materials. There are just times that seems to come in useful. (Like having the right size to fix a brake flag with the wrong size hole, etc).

I recently bought a ridgid combo kit for dirt cheap...
There is a new discount outlet store called Direct Tool. They carry Ryobi and Ridgid "blemished, overstock and remanufactured" tools.
Batteries are CHEAP!

FYI, the Hercules is a higher quality than the Bauer, and I think they are a lot better than the DeWalt bits that I have.

I also learned that using the slower speed on the drill and applying good pressure works the best.

Drilled a lot of 1/2" holes in 4" angle iron (w/o a drill press) to make brackets for the post and beam construction of my hunting cabin.
