Mike, this should be a keeper.
154 is really super rare now, and your version looks to be a beautiful example also.
Thank you Tor it is in good shape and it is my Son's saw so it is a keeper.

As Tor said...there rare ( UK ) now . I had one myself at the same time as a 254 ...good to see how the family progressed . I cut a few tons of timber on a 15 in bar ...they are "stout " as you say and fresh like the one you have ..very nice indeed.

that make it even more special Mike
I've followed the marked in both Sweeden, Norway, Denmark, now and then I see an 154, but none so nice as the one you have and it isnt often I see them.
I think it's actually just as good chance to find an 262 xpg 90 model nowadays, and that chance is like 1% haha

Thank you Simon I want to build a 254 for myself.

I'll see if I can provide you with a full xpg package, left to find a front handle and generator, 254 xpg was super populare in Norway.
You are learning me the wheel and porting so it is the least I can do for you

Late 782 Cub Cadet. PTO will energize but won't stay engaged. New PTO switch same thing. Switch on pto engages ,release switch to home "On" position, pto disengages.

I gotta share this one.
I am about 100% sure the owner never did this himself because he is a professional logger and he dont have time to play with chainsaws. I know this guy very well. He is also the only owner of this 262.
it aint a surprise that it has gone lean, I am actually shocked that it could actually survive lol

it sure gone be a torque monster Mike.
200 psi, it look like those 154 jugs and the 254-86 jugs are the ones to have if high compression is the goal, they have defently higher compression vs 254-88 and newer jugs.

Mike, I think those 154 and 254-86 had 2 mm gasket and smaller combustion chamber compared to 254-87 and never jugs who used 1mm gasket, stock gasket I think compression was the same.
When we make a gasket who set squish around 0.020" we end up with an compression who is just insane
My 254-86 ended up with 215 psi just by making the correct gasket, no extra work at all, and those 215 psi was with an old ring also, I've left to check the difference in timing numbers between those difference jugs I have.
This is why I belive 154/254 is the most funny 2xx serie saws from Husky
