You may be right doc. You might have enough room. Hope you do. The factory bolts are bad news sometimes.



70-90 hp has more clearance than I remembered.

Trying to learn as I go and just ask the boat motor guys in my group when needed. More brain power the better IMO.

I'm like a fish out of water on them.

Just a little 25hp for our pontoon. 2003 carb version.

They destroy the rods and counterbalance weight in a hurry if you do. Had a customer do that not to long ago. His is now in pop cans around the world.

Thanks for tidbit. I try not to rev anytime in N. Our lake has a 8mph limit so gun and let off LOL.
I just couldnt see buying a 9.9 so opted to buy the used 25hp this year. I just couldnt pass up the deal the marina was giving me.

One thing I will say. Love how quite they are.
Can carry on conversions while cruising even.

I was lacking in tools to tare down a 660. Which I know I have but they are in another state. So i did what any sane person would do. I grabbed my welder and some stainless rods.

EDIT: This thing actually works out very well I'm going to grind locking slots in the other side so I can pretty much do the whole saw with only that double ended bit. Also I should get a furnace and harden some extras.

I was lacking in tools to tare down a 660. Which I know I have but they are in another state. So i did what any sane person would do. I grabbed my welder and some stainless rods.

EDIT: This thing actually works out very well I'm going to grind locking slots in the other side so I can pretty much do the whole saw with only that double ended bit. Also I should get a furnace and harden some extras.

I did close to the same to make 4 and 5mm bits to go onto my Makita driver. Grabbed a set of super cheap extra long allen keys from Harbor Freight and a couple cheap 1/4” sockets in corresponding sizes. Cut the short arm off the allen key, pushed it into the matching socket and a touch with the welder. Last about 6 months of pretty substantial use. I think total cost was about $12.

Reason i did it this way was the 4, 4.5, 5mm pre-assembled drivers tend to be 1/4” the length of the shaft and just necked down at the tip. These don’t always fit especially in mufflers with tubes.

And for them Hooskies....This DeWalt set even has a 4.5mm!! Only downfall of these is they don’t have the double shank to lock in to the impact. Ratchet handle is pretty nice. I believe it was $30 as well. These are too cheap to be making your own tools. Just saying

I remember seeing that Mac set on the truck, wanted $50-60 I think.
I picked up one of those DeWalt sets for under $20 out the door on clearance at a HEP store when I was in NY.

I bought that DeWalt set. I concur it is infuriating that the bits don’t lock in. I also broke 2 bits the first few times I used them. The necked down tips sheared off.

05 accord engine swap,, used one bolted up,,,Honda wants subframe out then engine and trans out the botton.I snuck the engine out the top, not fun but doable.

Learn sumtin’ New everyday LOL! Thought I had an issue with the throttle cable returning. It wouldn’t quite idle all the way down. Just a few hundred rpm from where it should be. Shroud was slightly interfering with the decomp button after cutting the base. Fixt!

Ya even with a base gasket delete they’ll interfere or be real close. Have to watch the intake block interference with the bottom of cases too. Had to clearance my 7900 decomp opening too when I tighten squish.

It is a shield/spacer … some of the cheaper saws did not have one.
