Cleaned her up and attached a new bar and chain.

Went from the factory 10” to a 14” sugi with accompanying chain. The little saw balances perfect. Not nose heavy at all and with enough power for that 14” chain.

Spent the afternoon on my little 3-point chipper cleaning. This saw was handy limbing bigger tree down a bit to fit to keep the chipper chugging.

Next up is a muffler mod.

Only thing I notice is oil dripping everywhere now.
The bar has two sets of Oiler holes.
Oil still reaches the tip but a lot is being wasted.

Gonna have to figure something out to cover the stihl Oiler holes.

I cut a small piece of the heat tape i use under and around the muffler. Clean the bar really well, properly affix it (warm it up a little with a low heat from heat gun and then roll/pressure scrape it with a screwdriver handle) let it cool and run it. Works fine and lasts awhile.

Just rebuilt an Echo cs590. Walbro HDA 268A has a bad low side circuit. It appears that even after spending WAY too much time fooling with this dang carb there is no cure besides a new $100 carb. Luckily this guy dropped off two 590's so I had two carbs to fool with, which only added to how much time i spent on them. UUURRRRRGGGGG!!!!! They will both pass a pressure test but will not deliver fuel at idle. I have ruled everything else out. Pressure/ vac tested crankcase and fuel tank, both good. Compression is 140. I can feel a good strong impulse from the crankcase thru the impulse line while spinning it over. Unfortunately I did a search after wasting my time. Has anyone had any luck reviving this carb? You would think a carb for a $400 saw would be a little more reasonably priced. Oh well............

If anyone has a crafty fix, I'd love to know

That’s where Echo makes their money; not on the saws themselves but in replacement parts.

Can another carb fit on there?
If you buy another carb maybe get the one for the 620.
