972C0382-0AFB-4346-9C36-47A6F11C21F5.jpeg Not on the bench..my “ugly R” is going to get a make over...I pulled a stud in my second hand big bore 350 cylinder! Was s heart breaker, it had an oversized stud installed, and that pulled, so u orders a new cylinder, but that is two weeks out so I decided to do Powdercoat and some other updates, tearing it down

Working on my most aftermarket husqvarna 365. First I had to wash out all the aluminum chips. Then the supplied bearings felt gritty, I out with the seals and out with the bearings and new slacker bearings installed. I got a oem crank installed. Then a new oem wrist pin bearing. I got a Tecomec top end for it and it doesn’t have the wonky ports that other aftermarket top ends have. Tomorrow I’ll install the top end and check squish. More work will then continue next week as I have time.

Buddy dropped off a couple saws to get going for him. After sitting for two years at one of his other saw buddies places. Here is numero uno....
281 cases, he had already purchased a 288 meteor top end for it. Oh yeah...ELIMINATOR

Got the majority of it put together...need to get a case grommet for the fuel line, and replace a couple of AV bushing...hence no full wrap mounted yet.

Having the right worm gear puller sometimes is priceless.
I had a guy from Sweden on my site pick me one up for me. NLA here one for saws I run.

Back then he said something about 21 being left total in system wide over there.

Dad asked me to get his old Sachs 115 going. Wants it to backup the EFCO he has now. I cut a LOT of wood with this growing up. This is one I would not sell. Also brought me a 114 he picked up Somewhere. Forgot to get pics of it.

115 needed a carb rebuild and fuel line. I love how Sachs did the fuel lines on these, super easy.

Farmertec case, Husky 268 crank, Warhawk Chinese 272 jug and piston.

I attempted to measure port timing for the first time. Do these numbers seem legit/possible?

20190125_202440.jpg

It has a base gasket. Without, it's a head slapper. I currently have 6-7 tanks through it. Seems to run alright.
Piston wash.

All I have done was clean up some small ridges and roughness in the intake and exhaust ports.

Based off this, any thoughts on what to do with it? Run it? Grind a bit to move the ports? Attempt to hog finger ports?
It was a $20 jug, so Im not out anything if I jack it up.

I'll bet if you widen the exhaust AMAP and move it to about 102, and lower the intake to about 78, it will run real nice! I like where the Tr is, but make sure the upper comes over toward the intake enough. I also like to add some small bridge ports on my Stihls.

Maybe others with more experience with this particular jug can add their 2 cents, I'm just basing my answer on what I would do with a similar Stihl.

Thanks Mike. I will get some cylinder pics later. It's -28F here now.
I should have went for wood heat in my shop, but didnt have the space in there, so I have a ceiling mount LP unit. The regulator to the tank started freezing up on me last night..
It's up to -12° here now.
Dad just called and said he's coming over to make some wood.
Not what I really wanted to do today...... But oh well, I guess there is worse things.

It's warming up quick actually. Picked up 14 degrees in the last 2 hours.

Went to local echo dealership to "look" at there top handles. I hoped they would be interested in a like new husky 460 rancher to take on trade. I planned on mainly checking out the 271t but the 2511t was just too light to pass up. So they didn't take 2 strokes in on trade and I spent 80 more then the 271T. So on my bench is a 2511t, gonna finish topping out a dead oak tomorrow that I started this week. I've been climbing with a mcculloch mini mac 120, I almost could of dealt with the mac for the amount I climb. Not being able to run it up side down or even on it's side w/ a half tank of fuel bothered me.

You will be happy with the 2511. Do a search and find the threads on modding them; a small hole in the muffler bypassing the catalytic convertor and properly adjusting the carb makes the little bugger scream.

Auction find for the day. Mac 2.1, Homelite VI Super 2, and a Nielsen 100B sharpener. Been looking for a good sharpener to replace my PoS HF one, and this seems like just the ticket.
