Had some yardbird legs and boneless/skinless breasts I cut into strips that met some 350 deg peanut oil in the deep fryer (dredged in egg then a 50/50 mix of all purpose flour and Louisiana Fish Fry). Sides were zipper peas seasoned with smoked bacon end pieces, lightly browned whole kernel corn in a skillet with a mix of cream-style corn and cutup bacon, deviled eggs, King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls.

Screw the saw gtgs, we need a smoke off!

We discussed a BBQ/Smoke GTG, when we were at the old place but the distances, drive times and logistics made it impractical.
Getting together, sharing techniques/recipes and tasting the results, would be a lot of fun.

Yeah I get it, Hell I’m always down to throw some grub on the smoke and have people over. I’m in southern md if anyone is interested, pm me.

Seemed like a fine evening to make a 12” skillet of Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice with 1.5 lbs of thinly sliced smoked sausage. Big ol’ glass of milk, six/eight pieces of bread and I be set.

Needed to burn a couple of Subway coupons that expire after today, so subs it is. Three steak & cheese footlongs with damn near every topping offered and a footlong teriyaki chicken/bacon with a few additional toppings. $25 out the door...
