Are you saying gasoline quality impacted the ability of Techron to work?
In a roundabout way, yes.
I was vague, but should have asked if you think that different regions with different gasolines are the reason for the difference in results. I am aware that gasoline and its additive packages vary widely between different regions (think Deep South, Midwest, and Up North) and also from different refineries. So since not all gasoline is the same, I’m suggesting/asking that the results of adding a product would not be the same as well.

I dont think so. The idea that certain areas have vastly different quality gas really isnt based in fact. The EPA sets standards for quality and physical characteristics and the refineries follow those standards.
The caveats are that some areas require RFG which is slightly different albeit not any higher in quality. Another caveat is RINS credits. Refiners can buy these credits in order to satisfy the RFS standard IE ethanol when ethanol isnt available. With no ethanol in the blend more alkylate has to be blended into o reach octane targets, which improves quality a bit.
