I worked for a number of years with some engineers who did HAZOPs and design support at a couple of refineries in the Billings area.
PSM touches on alot of HAZOP items. Work often with engineers on that sort of thing..Also sit in on model reviews and the like to give Operations point of view. The refineries are in a state of constant change so there is always work.

Water isnt abrasive to rocks. The rocks being forced into contact with each other by water are abrasive .
As are the grit/soil/minerals dissolved or suspended in the water. A water jet metal cutter isn’t cutting with metal; it’s using abrasives suspended in water.
Is oil abrasive to engines? Like how water makes river rocks smooth?
Not unless it’s the last cup out of a 55 gal drum; sometimes there’s an astonishing amount of crud in the bottom.
