Synthetic Dolmar is blue right?
I have a little of it from Andrew, haven't used it though.

Red Dolmar oil did not behave the same as red Makita oil last time I switched.
Soon I will be switching back to Makita from Dolmar.
Personally I like both.

Ok. I decided to upload this to YouTube. My vids will only be visible to people with the link. Private account. Anyways, This is the mini tiller I modded running on camp fuel and 36:1 bIue marble. The gear box blew after a summer of abuse but the motor still runs like this, so......its going to get tested on "stuff"

I know it works great at 40:1, but they say it will work (extreme duty) at 80:1 and regular duty at 100:1. I would never test those ratios with any of my stuff!

After reading about Blue Marble from you I went in their website yesterday

It was working then but I have to say the quality of the website was almost childish. The lack of real world info was alarming and I think I would pass solely on those grounds when there are top tier oils out there with lots of data and info available

I vote Saber as well

I KNOW what it does at 32:1 and 40:1

There is a connection between engine size and oil ratio right? So, maybe 100:1 works in a 100cc engine for example, but might not in a 30cc just because the 30cc uses a smaller volume of fuel.

So the bigger engine less oil theory has me thinking and that’s always a dangerous thing

I took my Way Back machine to my youth and was thinking of Cox 049 model airplane engines

They had no rings, just an incredible fit and finish between piston and cylinder and the oil in the fuel was responsible for compression

That Cox canned fuel was some oily oily stuff and I would be curious at the ratio

Made me wonder if you built an OPE engine with a similar fit and finish on the jug and slug in lieu of ring/s and used mega oil if it would work

That's ok, I'm not sure on the fact myself, but I know with little radio controlled model engines, the amount of oil required seems to change with the size of the engine. 15cc's and less should run 15-23% oil, 6-9% is possible in 2-5cc engines, but is at the edge of failure, and causes a short life. 5-15% oil in larger than 15cc. You don't see those engines using 1-3%, not even in a ringed 10cc.

I got to thinking and figured since larger engines have more fuel volume pass through, they don't need as high of concentration in the gas. But then again the engine surface area is larger, so it would need more, but maybe not enough more to justify a higher or even an equal concentration compared to smaller engines? I don't know, just putting the thought out there.

What myself and others have found is viscosity plays a role in the tiny carbs. To thick seems to hamper power. 800 off-road at 40:1 makes my trimmers sluggish. Haven't tried it at 60 or 70:1 yet. But I will. Have a liter so might as well.

60:1 is the recommended ratio for 800 for normal use if you read their technical stuff. 50:1 for more extreme use.

I actually looked at rc car nitrous kits not more than 2 days ago i kid you not. They exist. Could you imagine.

I was at a local chainsaw race and saw one of the saws with a nitrous kit on it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it run. Probably would have been impressive when he hit that switch in the wood.
