My boss gave me 2 bottles of that because they sat on the shelf and didn't sell (I work at a motorcycle shop). Curious if anyone can chime in on it's reputation. What do u guys think of this oilView attachment 108573
Fairly likely. I don’t know thoughRight, but will it be similar to the r50 in that a saw doesn't produce the heat to burn it properly?

That's a good thought
If it does that can be a good thing on saws that set for a long time.IIRC, the Castrol oil had some mineral oil base in it. Probably a thousand pages or so back in this thread and stuff.

Yeah I run the Mineral Castrol Activ 2TI think that's what @Brewz runs, if I remember correctly.
* Edit- Scratch that I just realized what you have is synthetic. Pretty sure brews is running a mineral based Castrol 2t. oil
Lotta folks round my parts use the stihl oil as well I have just don’t love the stuff.Yeah I run the Mineral Castrol Activ 2T
I think oils available in Australia are different to the USA.
I know a lot of people in the US hate the Stihl Ultra oil but here, I have seen nothing but low wear and clean cylinders running it. I just hate the smell and price.
25:1 in saws over 100cc and 32:1 in saws under.
Almost all smaller cc handhelds run on Ultra that come in my shop look horrible. Carbon in the ring lands and then they stick and cause problem. Thoso pics r from a BG55 blower less than 1 year of useWell that looks like s hit
Ultra is an ashless oil that was brought out to band aid problems with the poorly designed fourmix engine. Its formulated very similar to a boat oil in that it doesnt use mettalic based detergent additives. Not suprised. The stuff also smells terrible due to the fact the alternative to detergents are amine based dispersents. They all stink to varrying degrees.Almost all smaller cc handhelds run on Ultra that come in my shop look horrible. Carbon in the ring lands and then they stick and cause problem. What oil will get the smell of this thing off? I took 2 showers already and I still smell squeal???
