I've used xp in the past and liked it. Smell is bearable, and easy to tell it's mixed.

Local husky dealer is a bit of a drive. And his prices are beyond what I'm going to pay. Even buying bulk he expects full retail and then some.

Wish stihl oil was better, I can get a great deal with my saw dealer
Your dealer sell saber ? The oz marks on the side of bottle are nice ,8 oz bottle mixes a 2.5 gal no spill can 40 to 1 so helpers can even mix the fuel

Saber good stuff? My parts dude carried it. Last I actually paid for was lucas as that's what was cheap. My dude tells me Lucas marine is exactly the same stuff as the air cooled. He sells lots of oil an parts. It's pretty likely he knows. He also got us to switch from shell rotella motah oil to shell Rimula. Says it's the same specs but marketed for overseas. I forget how exactly that worked but it's good too Only ever seen rimula in the barrel though. It's cheaper

been using belray h1r at 50:1 in my lawn boys lately they seem to like it well and i like the no smoke as well.

Jake !! , it's a Lawn-Boy for gods sake.....gotta have smoke and use outboard oil ;)
In all honesty I got a quart of OB oil (Valvoline) in the spring after you suggesting that's what to use and my bricktop runs on it great at 32:1 with enough smoke for that pleasant smell and keeps the skeeters away .

Someone please refresh my memory about this oil. I know it was discussed last summer and it being a relative bargain at Walmart. I must have been convinced as I bought some the last time I was in the states. I found a local store that carries it for a real low price (approx $6USD/ quart) before I buy a ton of it just wanted to be refreshed. Is it same as Husky XP?

Around here, Wally sells the full synthetic PP oil in the 24 oz. bottle with built in measure for around $6.00. VP synthetic is on sale right now, $5.00 for 16 oz. I tried some in my blower the other day and must say it has a neat smell to it, although not incredibly strong. My favorite cheap oil is Walmart brand full synthetic, 8 oz./$1.49. It gives the fuel a nice blue tint that is easily recognized, I'm sure it is a repackaged name brand like their motor oil is.

I've been using this since November:

I've burnt about 5 gallons of it so far. I pulled the muffler on my 2188, and it looks great, and has a good sheen. It seems to be working, but I will keep an eye on it over time.

The best part is, it smells like strawberries, which is much more pleasant than the smell of Stihl HP Ultra, which I had been using.

Gonna have to grab some more of this vp oils when I go to Walmart again just in case they don't stock it next year.

Funny i know some guys that sware by that stuff. Literally gallons upon gallons used in pwc and outboard applications without a hitch. Its probably the exact same stuff as another highly regarded oil just repackaged as many are. In all my years with 2ts ive ran just about every oil mentioned here with no real issues other than wrong application for oil. I am fairly confident you can run any oil atall for a while and be just fine.

I've been using Wally synthetic motor oil for years with good results. It's cheaper than name brand dino oil often times. At one point it was made by Pennzoil, don't know if that is still the case. I've always believed that motor oil and diapers are quite similar. Don't worry about the brand, just change often!
