I just drain the fuel and fill with canned fuel like vp, true fuel or husqvarna xp. Probably be the husqvarna xp because I get it cheaper.
I used VP94 with great results. VP stated on their website they used Motul 710 in their premix cans but later removed that statement.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/171989925932. Thats works out to 2.5qts @ 12.67 per qt. One of the best oils Ive used and very reasonable at that price for an Ester based OPE oil
I did it! Keith I ordered some of your f******oil. These oil threads are expensive to participate in!
It had better work as good as Gary Goo or I'll be sending you a GFY. :dogpile:

Nope that is what I do. That is all the farther I am going to think on the subject. Run good oil and when not planing on running for a couple of weeks I will put the can fuel in. That is a lot better care then 90%of saw users and some of them get years of service.

Does anyone "fog" their saws for winter storage? I say Fog as in what I used to do for my outboard motor in the winter. Take each plug out and squirt in a few squirts of pure 2 stroke oil then just turn the motor over a couple of times to circulate the oil in the cylinder then replace plugs and store for the winter. It smokes a little in the spring at initial startup, but protects the motor.

What we do to fog down our drag bikes is we get them warmed up and then turn the gas off on the fuel tank and as it running out of gas spray wd-40 down the carb and when it starts to blow white smoke shut it off.

The only real application I can see for fogging down a chainsaw would be for a race saw application if they are using a oxygenated fuel which is Very corrosive which means they still need to run a regular fuel like pump gas to clean the fuel lines and carb, then spray wd-40 down the carb into the engine. After the run.

I generally do not cut firewood in winter with snow on the ground unless an emergency. So I generally park my saws for cold winter snowy months.
