I wouldn't mind running one of those ported 250'sIf it mnakes a big difference, they got to be bad ass. cause they are pretty bad ass stock. I was cutting grass and weeds three feet tall a while ago and it was going through it with nothing. I didn't have my other trimmer heads with me or it would have done it faster. All I had was string.
below is some different heads I use on mine. and I always wear a helmet with shield. mine will throw decent size rocks.

I have a similar helmet and I really like it. Had a chunk of wood break off once and slammed so hard it dented the screen and almost took the helmet off my head. I use it all the time now. Weed eating, sawing, when kids are being loud, when wife is being loud. They are great once you get used to them

I have a stihl one I use for cutting trees, It nneds a shield. I was going to get another helmet. but I bought the husky helmet cheaper than the stihl shield. the husky helmet feels better too.

Heck I think this thread is just like the best oil. It's still your opinion and almost anything will work right. Ad long as it is mixed 42.5 to 1!

You can always justify another saw.

Sorry, I killed the thread.lol
It was doomed when started. Try a Champion 12" tri blade, like your smaller Stihl blade. Usually on Ebay. They are tough and will cut almost anything. Wear chaps though, I caught a limb across the thigh that left a bruise like I got hit with a golf club.

322 pages and we out of stuff to talk about? Well I finally got my dad to understand that as good as mercury oil is its not ment for saws. He switched to citgo air cooled. It's cheap and I bought him a case of quarts. Should last him a while. He can't see well so I brought him a bunch of little bottles with lines on them to fill to. His sight and poor oil choice is probably reason for some of the failures he has had.

Its only 322 pages here, there are about 400+ more on AS.

My oils come from the 2 best dealers in the area. I buy what I hope is the best they have. I may pay more but I really hope they stay in business for when I do need them.

What if we start new oil thread survey?
Just to tally up to see what's number 1 choice of everyone
Called 2 stroke oil survey.
Had some rules
Like a set finish date to tally up
Each person can only post once
And only post favorite oil no quotes just favorite oil Not ratio nothing else.

Nah wouldn't prove best oil anyway just prove most used I guess
