Yes but I did run some valvoline today and the saw is still running so I like it too.

What ratio did you run it at?

I'm not comfortable holding one wfo over 14000 to check.

I'll turn the high side and check it in the wood. I may have it tuned where it's not 4stroking at all. On my personal saws I'll tune it to max rpm in the cut, never check no load rpm.

Here is something I have never fully understood.
When you say you tune to max rpm in the cut, what are you referring to as max rpm?

Ron, why do you use 110 octane? You are leaving a lot on the table with that much octane.
I liked the way it ran in my 660.....felt stronger than 93. I posted a video on AS comparing the two a few years back. That was my first video and my technique wasn't great. The 110 was faster every cut but results might vary now if I repeated the test.

You should try it again. An engine always makes the most power with the lowest octane that can be run safely without detonation. And I don't know about where you are, but high octane fuel is not cheap. It's a waste of money imho for chainsaws.

I litre of Klotz Motol ordered and on its way
I have been using Penrite MC2ST but the fumes are offensive.
A bit of pizz revving in the garage and people start calling the fire brigade when I open the door to let the smoke out. It burns your eyes.

So far my favorite has been the cheap ryobi oil which I suspect is very similar to the valvoline.
It smelt good, burnt clean and left a nice coating in the motor

I am looking forward to trying out the Klotz
