I'm not genius by any stretch but if it's wet on top you are using to much or it can't burn for how YOU RUN A SAW.

There can be no set ratio across the board. YOU have to find a oil and a ratio that will combust and lubricate your saw for the way you run it.

I run a saw very hard and 50:1 with klotz is perfect for me. If you baby a saw and run klotz at 32:1 it won't work and that is were the problem starts.

Use what ever oil and ratio works. For me its HP2 for a bike oil and Saber for an OPE blended oil both at 40:1. Both are readily available locally.

I have no idea what the inside of my saws or any of my OPE looks like all I know is they run clean.

Sorry Keith I talked myself out of the KL200[emoji3]

99% of people will never no what the inside looks like and there saws will be just fine. I like to know what's going on so I can tell a customer where to start at but he or she has to figure it out for themselves.

The only oil I'll bash is stihl because I work on them and I no what it does.

I'll never let a picture on the Internet change my opinion on a oil. Because someone else said it's bad doesn't mean it is. Study it and use it the right way before you judge.

I've been told by a oil guru that 800 and h1r are drill bit lube at best, I've never ran them,I believe him but I'll find out for myself before I cast judgement.

I'm very lucky to live in Missouri, vp has more stations here than anywhere else.

91 octane is 1.80 a gallon at the vp in Farmington, 30 miles away. I'm 30 miles away from everything though.
Farmington Mo? Isn't that close to Johnsons shut in and elephant rock?

I love going camping and hiking down there.

getting setup for a gas/octane test. I thought this was interesting. 89 e free lighter color than 91 e free. not sure what it means...if anything.

Looking forward to seeing the results.
I got a hunch what gas will win but no clue on the oil.
Care to speculate?

OIL - I've seen differences in times. I've seen differences in temps. With different ratios of the same oil and with different oil all together. I really think there is something to it all or I wouldn't be spending so much of my resources on this craziness.

I said it a long time ago. Not all the 2t oils are the same (different viscs, different flash pts, different formulations, etc etc) and therefore they should run differently. Speculate on which does what...I think it's easier to, not speculate, just remain objective and run a test on them all and simply see what happens.

I'm going to great lengths to take out as many variables as I can. This gas/octane test is just another one of them.

GAS/OCTANE - As for the gas/octane test... I'll run 36" 404 and check times and temps. Might be a lot going on. Might be nothing going on.
