I've pulled tried the trigger on many new 42's at my side job shop and never encountered one that was 5 pounds. 7-8 pounds maybe. Far as I know, the only thing Glock has changed on the 42 that can affect trigger pull is the addition of a dot connector similar to what the gen. 4 and 5 guns have. The biggest problem is that the 42 uses the same striker spring as the larger guns and is compressed more due to the shorter slide, meaning it stacks more before the gun fires. I got the reduced power striker spring from Ghost and it's now pretty close to my larger pistols.
Interesting. I know they replaced the trigger assembly, some lever, mags fir some reason too. Some hollow points I guess could fail to feed. If I recall. I'll try to remember to get a pull pic with my Lyman. Make sure I'm remembering my poundage lol. Old I'm getting. Sucks it does.

I usually use those .380 Underwood too. I couldn’t find any without taking out a kidney so my buddy told me try some Precision One HP/XTP. Some small company in South Carolina makes them and they use the same bullet as the Hornady Critical Defense. Reviews on them all look good so we’ll see.

My wife bought hers first. At that time I was carrying a kahr pm380 with night sights. One mag with her Glock I went and got myself one. Only thing I've carried since outside a North America arms black widow around the property. Both of ours did go back to Glock for updating on their dime. They functioned fine but the triggers were around 9 pounds vs the advertised 5. They both came back with the 5 pound triggers, new updated magazines ect. For ammo we use Underwood Xtreme Defender. After watching gel tests with steel, denim, pork ribs ect in front, I was all over these rounds.

Good stuff indeed.
I've got some similar ammo in 9mm 124gr called Honey Badgers by Black Hills Ammo. Haven't shot any yet, but the videos, reviews, and ballistics are SWEET!

Love the Glock 42, their best one by far. Its even better when you put in the reduced power spring kit. I can shoot mine as well or better than any full size gun.

I got a G43 to replace a G27 that I couldn't ever get used to.
The G43 is a joy to shoot and carry.

Anybody have experience with the Taurus G3C 9mm? We have them at my side job for $279.00, they use Glock compatible sights. I like the way they fit my hand and the trigger pull is surprisingly good.

I wouldn’t trade my Hellcat or P365xl for one but if i needed a 9mm i wouldn’t hesitate to buy one. For under $300 you won’t find a better 9mm. They’re pretty well built guns but a little heavier than most in its class.

The .40 is a terrible choice for a subcompact gun, I think.
Agreed. I got my G27 as a deal I couldn't pass up. I couldn't ever get comfortable with the gun. I always felt like it was trying to squirt out of my hand.
Ended up giving it away.

If I could only use factory ammo I wouldn't own a .40. With lead bullets at 850 fps or so it's a dandy. After the tractor is finished I'll see if I can swing a Taurus G3c.

I’ve got a G2C and G3C...a few upgrades on the 3C as compared to the 2C, but both shoot well and no FTF/FTE’s so far across several brands of ammo. And I agree, they are a little heavier than you’d think they would be compared to other sub-compacts. Certainly worth the $250-275 price range.

And to tell the truth, I'm not a handgun guy. If it wasn't for carry, I'd have just the Browning buckmark target. I'm all in on rifles.

Ruger Mark series for the win! Ha! Back atcha...

Had dinner at my sisters place tonight. Brother in law and I got talking and inspecting his rather nice collection.

The sister is a great cook so that's also nice.
BIL gifted me this little trinket:

45.jpg

1970 Colt MkIV series 70Gov't.
I think I need to go make some noise.

Damn nice...and you should prob frequent your sister/BIL’s place more often if Colt 1911’s are up for grabs.

I like the fact that they are heavier than others. Makes them easier to shoot and I think it causes less wear and tear overall. One thing that shocked me was how nice the single action pull is on the G3C. Way better than most more expensive guns. Feels like a slightly heavier Walther PPQ to my finger.

Those Redhawks are sweet, I would love to have one in .45 Colt. I have it's little brother, a 1989 Service Six that is never going to be sold.
A Redhawk with the Old Uncle Mike's aftermarket grip, is the best feeling big bore revolver I've ever handled. I have them on two of my Redhawks. I wish those grips were still available.
The Ruger six series revolvers are my favorite medium frame revolver. I have an older 4" stainless security six that's a joy to shoot and a pleasure to carry in a belt holster.

I think the Six series is the ultimate evolution of the double action revolver. As good as the GP is, I think it is a step backwards in most ways.
