Thing is, you don't have to spend hundreds to get a decent scope these days either. The sub $200.00 class just keeps getting better. The Vortex Diamondback and Leupold VX-I/Freedom hold zero about as well as anything else out there, the glass just isn't as good as the more pricey ones. I have a Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-9x40 on my .257 and it has performed really well for me, they go for under $150.00 usually. Of course, it is mounted in steel Leupold rings and bases and not flimsy see through junk, which really helps. I would almost rather have a cheap scope in good mounts than a good scope in cheap mounts!

They come in handy when lobbing them out to 400 or so.

To be clear, I'm talking about the guys who buy the biggest and cheapest scope they can find and clamp it to their Marlin model 60 with flimsy tip off mounts. The factory open sights would be a better way to go. I know there are dedicated enthusiasts who put big scopes on well made rimfire rifles, and they know what they are doing.

Wow, it looks huge for a .22. The mag box looks centerfire. What kind of a rifle is that?
The rifle is a Vudoo gun works ravage. It's a 700 short action foot print so it works with all 700 S/A stocks, chassis, triggers and so on. The magazine is that size because it mimics the aics pattern mags common in 700 chassis.

I wanted a full scale 22 comparable to my 700 LTR in 308. The vudoo weighs 13.8lbs loaded with a bipod. It's a stout 22. But man is it a shooter.

Good guns for sure but they’re like holding a 2”x4”
Not a fan of them outside the thin single stack 42 and 43. The rest, as reliable and accurate as they are....2x4 foe sho.
I've had mostly Kahr Arms carry pistols until the 42 came out. Thats me go to. Slips in me pocket holster just dandy.

Lol. I'm loyal to products that do what they say and fit my needs. Not a particular brand fan boy. I'll shoot anything if I like it from Hipoint carbines to custom bench rifles. One Glock here. Probably the only one.

And to tell the truth, I'm not a handgun guy. If it wasn't for carry, I'd have just the Browning buckmark target. I'm all in on rifles.

Love the Glock 42, their best one by far. Its even better when you put in the reduced power spring kit. I can shoot mine as well or better than any full size gun.

My wife bought hers first. At that time I was carrying a kahr pm380 with night sights. One mag with her Glock I went and got myself one. Only thing I've carried since outside a North America arms black widow around the property. Both of ours did go back to Glock for updating on their dime. They functioned fine but the triggers were around 9 pounds vs the advertised 5. They both came back with the 5 pound triggers, new updated magazines ect. For ammo we use Underwood Xtreme Defender. After watching gel tests with steel, denim, pork ribs ect in front, I was all over these rounds.

I've pulled tried the trigger on many new 42's at my side job shop and never encountered one that was 5 pounds. 7-8 pounds maybe. Far as I know, the only thing Glock has changed on the 42 that can affect trigger pull is the addition of a dot connector similar to what the gen. 4 and 5 guns have. The biggest problem is that the 42 uses the same striker spring as the larger guns and is compressed more due to the shorter slide, meaning it stacks more before the gun fires. I got the reduced power striker spring from Ghost and it's now pretty close to my larger pistols.
