Welp, the snow storn Friday night into today kept me at work longer than I thought. Made a tiny amount of progress on little Joe, but I needed a little sleep and I’ve got alot of ground to clear snow from, so today’s small step forward

Here’s where I like aftermarket better. The vent elbow is a known headache inducer when it comes time to put a hose on her, especially with the thicker and more rigid Oregon line for alcohol. 2CC8DA28-6D2F-4358-BB08-8E704300C5AB.jpeg

Re-install the spring mount75ED8099-1618-4A82-A3E2-AB72BEBAC6AD.jpeg

And position the hose to clear the block and tank. These springs are the stiff ones, Little Joe is a goin stumping, and whether it’s part time, once in a while, or everyday; running a 394/5 for stumpin means stiff springs to me. Easy to put the regular springs in if Big Joe preferrs ................. up to him.F0AF3D55-D594-4129-9ACA-05828B5B23CD.jpeg

I always prefer stiff springs, the soft ones make the saw feel wore out IMO.

I'ma gunna try this again .................

No snow forecasted for this weekend
No major works on the calendar at work

I SHOULD be able to make some significant progress on this 394/5 this weekend.
I'm getting excited to see this thing run, as its basically a brand new saw, only old stuff is the case halves and the covers. Everything else is new OEM !

Next saw is brand new too, so apples to apples for the head to head stuff !!

That saw is gonna pull a long bar like an animal. Nice numbers Kevin. What ya thinking on those cylinder extension pics? Jonsered 930 mod to the lower transfers? Or the clearance between cylinder and crank case?
